The most priceless state of mind has to be one with peace. When you're in possession of it you can never imagine life without it yet when its snatched from you you come to know just how precious it is. Ahmad had lost his most treasured peace of mind. The peace that was stolen from him that unfortunate afternoon. In his quest to regain what he had lost. He took his young wife's advice, he prayed with a determination to so devote himself to prayer until he feels whole again. Sleep didn't pay him a visit so instead He spent most of the night in prayer.

He was in that state when he heard small cries coming from behind him. Ahmad turned immediately, the sight that greeted him alarmed him. The partly draped body on the bed was trembling a lot that he could make it out even in the dimly lit room. The only source of light coming from a lamp he'd lighted close to where he was. He approaches the bed slowly as if his footsteps would aggravate the situation. He turned on the lamp by his bed side so the intensity of the light wouldn't fall on her face directly. The colour of the lamp on her face made her look like an angelic creature from a world more peaceful than his own.

She started shivering again, it was surprising that her eyes were still closed. Ahmad turned off the air conditioner with the remote beside his lamp, then he adjusted the comforter over her body.
Ahmad sits on the couch facing her directly. That was one of the reasons why he wanted them to share a room. Over time he had grown so protective of her, he didn't want her out of his sight. As the thought pestered his mind, Ahmad convinced himself that it is the same protective instincts he feels over Nusaiba and Haneefah...nothing special.

A sharp exhale from her had him move off the couch on to the bed. The weather wasn't that cold enough to send shivers so he figured she was the one extra sensitive. In one quick move, Ahmad's shirt flew off his body. He had only one better idea.

Body heat.

When he pulled her to him, Rukkayya's eyes shot open. After a few seconds of confusion, she attempted to pull away but Ahmad didn't budge.

"Sleep, dimple."

When she tried to speak her voice was thick with sleep, it came out a mere whisper. "What are..?"

"Shhh!"

The warmth that rolled off his torso was lulling. The manly scent simply intoxicating threatening to flush out all her rational thoughts...or is it the irrational ones?

Rukkayya unconsciously looked up at him, she was met by dark brown orbs that looked  a shade darker under the illumination of the lamp. As she searched for what she knows not, she found her answer soft and intense, protective and welcoming. Her hand moved to his side over the rock solid abs that assured her of her safety. A peaceful slumber followed suit.
