"Your brother has run off again. I don't know if I should be worried," Hajiya Fatima sighed placing a hand on her forehead.

"No Mammy, I don't think you should worry. I mean, he didn't go alone, he took her with him. So whatever it is, he isn't isolating himself from everybody. Someone is there with him."

The older woman paused for some seconds thinking over what her daughter had just said. "You do have a point. I want to hear your point of view, do you think they are making progress?"

She had her own guesses especially with Ahmad but she needed a different viewpoint.

"I believe so. They have so much chemistry, I don't know what with them both...Its like they are fighting the connection off."

Mammy rolled her eyes. "If that's the case they'll get tired of fighting. I'll wait patiently till they are out of energy."

"I'm not as patient as you are Mammy. Its starting to get annoying. I mean its been five months..Haba!"

"You're just a child Hani. Don't you know we need to be thankful that they both respect each other else they would have scarred each other beyond repair before we sit here having a conversation about how much they've progressed. People don't do that anymore because its a complicated situation. Even when two people agree with each other enough to want marriage, how many lasts?"

"If that's the case then why did you do it?"

"Ahmad was wilting away. He was dying from the inside, we would have lost him one way or the other. He has been through so much pain for so long. He deserves stability. There is no such thing as a smooth path in life, it hasn't been easy but we gave him something else to do, someone to look after and I think he is doing his best. He would have been back to square one otherwise."

"Halima's death broke him, I'd hate to think he's going down that road again."

"I pray for her everyday."

The Modibbo foundation was established back in 1998. It was Kabir Modibbo's way of giving back. He had always had a passion for helping others, it felt like the perfect way to help all those around him. The foundation sponsored many people including his staff and their children to further their education. A number of allies were against it as they felt Kabir would lose most of his employees once they get a certificate but being the educational enthusiast that he is, Kabir wasn't discouraged. He would always say, "I'm not forcing anyone to work for me if anyone feels he wants a better job then so be it."
He lost a couple of staff here and there but it wasn't because they got a better job, mostly to natural circumstances that are unavoidable. The man is very kind and their pay was reasonable and always on time. He would say "Bankruptcy doesn't scare me as much as being unable to  pay these people."
