"Do you think they are making progress?" Aisha asked.

"I can't say for sure. I mean they don't hate each other which means there is hope. He is a nice guy and she's a sweet girl, they just need a little time to understand each other."

"That makes sense. She's really brave though, I don't think I can agree to an arranged marriage." Aisha picked up a grape from the fruit basket and threw it into her mouth.

"Well some people think she agreed because he is rich," Haneefah rolled her eyes. "If that was the reason believe me I would have sensed it by now. I went shopping with her some time ago, at a point I had to hide the price tags from her! She was freaking out!"

Aisha threw her head back and laughed. "O'oh, I'm in trouble!"

"Why?"

"Hamma is walking over here, wallah I haven't spoken to him since we returned from London."

Aisha and her husband - a medical doctor - were in London where he was doing a course. She didn't get to make it to the wedding. From childhood, Ahmad had always been the big brother she never had which made her adopt the title 'Hamma.'

"So much for besties!" Haneefah laid back slightly while she chewed on the steak in her mouth. It was well grilled that was one thing all the Modibbo men had in common. Mastery of the art of grilling. "This is going to be fun," Haneefah crooned.

"Hamma, Usaini ya fam (forgive me)! " Aisha pleaded the minute he reached their place.

"Haneefah is someone talking or am I hearing things?"

Haneefah grinned from ear to ear. "I think you need to get your ears checked bro."

"Mind your business Hani!" Aisha shot Haneefah a warning glare which made her suppress her laughter.

"How is Doctor?  Wait..Is that Yumna?" Ahmad carried the seven month old.

"Doctor is fine Hamma, he sends his regards."

Ahmad ignored her. "Hey baby, look at you so big already! What does she feed you that made these cheeks so chubby?"

"She can't talk Hamma, talk to me please, I'm sorry!"

"Go away Aisha!" He dropped the baby back in the pan.

"Where is Rukkayya?" Ahmad asked suddenly taking note of her absence. Before anyone of them could answer, a piercing scream filled the air catching everybody's attention. Without a word further, Ahmad sprinted in the direction of the sound. When he made it past the garden to the pool area, all Ahmad saw was Nusaiba mumbling some incomprehensible words.
