Ahmad had practically combed the entire town paying particular attention to all her favourite spots but she was nowhere to be found. He must have left nothing less than fifty missed calls. It soon became clear to him that she was hiding.

What other place would she hide that she knew he couldn't find her? He tapped his hand on the steering wheel.. The engineer's residence!

He hit the ignition button and drove straight to the residence. He had just parked his car when he paused to think it all through.  He realized then just how stupid he looked if he went straight ahead and barged in to the private residence. He was the one dumped, he was the one married. He was the one most vulnerable and his image would suffer more.  To hell with Hafsat Kassim. She had taken cover in fear of him. That was enough to keep her busy for the time being.

While he tried to deal with his dilemma, Nusaiba called him severally but he didn't bother answering. He had other pressing things to worry about

She worked with diligence and excitement. You could tell she loved the camera and what she could do with it. She carried out her work with utmost dedication. However, her mood was different. She was clearly obsessing. It was written in the way she held the camera. Something was definitely wrong.

Could she have found out?

He knew it was only a matter of time of considering how sloppy the guy was. It wouldn't have surprised him if she found out earlier. As much as he had tried not to think about it reminding himself that it was none of his business, he ended up thinking about it against his free will.

How had they arranged such a marriage?

Dragging an innocent girl from her normal life to the fast lane that would either drown her or leave her in pieces. He suddenly remembered that fateful day that he had seen them at green leaves. It happened right before his eyes a taboo for even a single man speak less of one married. He should have been man enough to handle his business without dragging an innocent girl to the equation. He knew well too well how such scandalous such relationships could get. He happened to be a product of such a failed marriage and oh how lucky he was to get out of it a decent man.

There were four of them in the inner studio. Apparently she preferred to work with minimal crowd so the space was cleared for her. A privilege he let her enjoy on for the time being. She needed to be able to concentrate in the rowdiest of places, He wanted that for her.

Umar's train of thoughts was interrupted by his assitant who whispered something in his ear. Umar regarded his assistant before nodding. He waited for the assistant to leave before he approached her.
