(39) Painful Farewell

Nikashi's POV

I opened my eyes, I saw green leaves shaded me. I sat up. I saw myself sitting on a dirt road. I looked at my hands, they're in their usual animated form. My thoughts were enveloped with confusion. Di ba nasa ibang dimension ako?

I roamed my eyes around the area. I'm in some kind of a forest track. Different kinds of trees shaded the dirt road. May iba't ibang uri ng bulaklak at damo ang nasa gilid ng dirt road. This seems like a paradise. There's some kind of light at the end of the dirt road. Ano ba tong lugar na to?

I stood up and decided to walk towards the light. Bakit kaya ako nandito? The last thing I remembered, nagwawala si Yin dahil sa nakita namin sa hinaharap. I noticed na hindi ako lumalapit sa liwanag, para akong naglalakad sa isang treadmill. Kahit anong lakad ang gawin ko, hindi pa rin ako nakakalapit sa liwanag. Nasa loob ba ako ng isip ko? But that doesn't explain this never-ending dirt road. I know for a fact na hindi ganito kapeaceful ang isip ko.

I tried looking for something else in this forest. Looking for even the slightest clue in this road. I roamed my eyes around the place, however my eyes stopped at a certain tree. It's a tall and massive tree. I think it's the tallest tree in this forest. May malaking sanga siya sa gilid. I squinted my eyes at it, trying to remember where I've seen that tree coz it's really familiar. Nilapitan ko to and observed it further. This tree is really familiar. I swear nakita ko na to noon but when? Where?

I pushed those thoughts aside and decided to climb the tree. I focused chakra on the soles of my feet and walked on the tree trunk, breaking the law of physics in the process. Once I reached the large trunk, I sat down on it. I froze when I saw the view at this height. My breath hitched at the sight of my beloved home. Konoha.

Wala tong pinagbago simula nung umalis ako. Except included na si Tsunade sa hokage mountain. Makikita mo talaga ang buong bayan ng Konoha mula dito. I stared at it with a longing look. It's been a while I step foot on that town. I missed it. I really do. It's been three years simula nung umalis ako and there's never been a day na hindi ko namiss ang bayan ko. I sighed heavily. Di bale, para sa bayan naman tong ginagawa ko. Even if some of them scorned me, I still wanna protect them from the inevitable war.

"You have that same expression from the last time we talked." Someone suddenly said snapping me out from my thoughts.

I snapped my head towards the direction of the voice. I saw Grandpa Sage giving me small smile while sitting on the same branch I was sitting. "G-Grandpa sage." I stuttered unbelievably.

He grinned. "The one and only!" he proudly said while jerking a thumb towards himself.

"A-Anong ginagawa mo dito?" I asked him with a shocked expression.

He chuckled then he turned his eyes at Konoha. "Yan din ang tinanong mo sakin nun. Except with a different emotion. Well façade." He said with a smirk.

I sighed then I looked at Konoha as well. "Alam mo naman kung bakit Grandpa sage."

He chose not to respond. He just kept on looking at Konoha with an emotion I can't decipher. I didn't bother talking as well. I'm so lost with the flashbacks of events inside my head. It's funny na ganito din ang sitwasyon nung nag-usap kami 3 years ago. Ang tanong ko lang, bakit ako nandito? This is a dream, right? Pero bakit nandito si Grandpa Sage?

My eyes widened at my sudden realization. I looked at him with wide eyes. I saw him have a soft and peaceful expression while looking at Konoha. Tears build up on my eyes. Not a second later, tears freely flow on either side of my cheeks. This can't be.
