(42) Discovery

3rd Person's POV

Desperation coursed Sasuke's veins as he weaved thru the village of Konoha with a terminally ill Itachi Uchiha's arm on his shoulders. He made sure that both of them are out of sight. He didn't want to cause a ruckus because of Itachi's reputation.

Sasuke was well aware that he can't bring Itachi to the hospital even though that's what he desperately needed at this moment. He knew the moment Danzo knows that he brought Itachi into this village, he would do his best to have both of their heads on a platter. He mentally cursed their situation right now. He wanted to give Itachi an immediate medical attention but he knows less to nothing of it. He could go ask for their Hokage, for she is the best medical ninja of all time, but he can't leave his brother unattended especially if his life is only hanging by a thread.

He was snapped out of his stressful thoughts when he heard Itachi cough beside him. The latter covered his mouth with his free hand as he let out a good amount of blood on his hand. That made Sasuke quicken his pace even more. "Hang on Nii-san." He desperately said as he decided to bring his big brother to their compound.

"S-Sasuke." Itachi began in a hoarse voice. "Gust-to ko lang i-ipaal-lam sayo na k-k-kung h-hindi----"

"Wag ka munang magsalita Nii-san." He said with a glare. "Hindi ko hahayaang mawala ka pa sakin. Not anymore." He said with a look of both determination and desperation.

Itachi stared at Sasuke as he supported him while they're travelling to what he remembered as the discrete route towards their clan's compound. If someone told him 2 years ago that his brother will do everything to save his life, he would've put them in an endless loop of his Tsukuyomi. He didn't expect that despite him killing their clan, his brother would do such a thing as save his life. He imagined before that they would have an intense death match, not this scene right here.

Despite the situation, he internally smiled as he thought about how his once cute little brother grew up into this fine and matured young man. He never thought he would live to see the day his brother will abandon his revenge once he knew the story behind his actions before. He thought that once he fills his little brother's head with revenge, it will motivate him to become stronger. It did happen, he knew Sasuke is strong enough to beat him, however, he never expected that it will evade the possibility of his little brother killing him at the end.

He wanted to die by his brother's hands. He believed it is the only way to pay for all those lives he took but he guessed it will never happen. He wanted to blame that redheaded teen female, who he sees as a little sister he never had, for meddling with his suicidal plans but he knew she just wants what's best for him.

The last time they had a conversation, she was really keen on sparing the older Uchiha's life. He knew she just means well so he can't really say that he condemns the redheaded teen for ruining his so-called salvation to all of his crimes.

That thought alone gave the older Uchiha a decision. A decision which may break his promise to his imouto. He swore he will never speak a word of it but since she broke her end of the deal, all for the reason that she wanted to save her older brother's well-being, so he decided to return the favor.

He doesn't want to expose her for the reason of getting back for what she did. No. He wanted to save her as well.

He witnessed all her hardships just to make sure all of her friends and village are safe. That's why they even connected in the first place. They knew each other's pain because their situation is somewhat similar. That urged him to train the redheaded teen, who had acquired the sharingan on her right eye. Yeah at first, he just wanted to repay the teen for saving his little brother but it changed when he understood her pain.
