"So this is our one hour of rec enjoy it" Kamryn chuckled leaning against the wall
"I realize that" I chuckled tossing the ball into the hoop
The rec yard was connected to the yard everyone else played in but it was fenced off for us. The top of it was covered and their was guards at every corner. Their was no escaping no matter how hard you tried.
"One on one?" He asked
"Get your ass off the wall then" I laughed
Kamryn was slick he pushed off the wall and stole the ball when I was trying to put it through my legs.
"Gotta be quicker then that King" He smirked
He dribbled the ball and I reached for it nearly stumbling to my face when he pulled it off the ground and tried shooting it. It hit the back board and swirled around the hoop for a second before it finally dropped in.
"Oouu your lucky"
"I was a basketball star in high school" He flaunted
"Oh yeah I never even went to high school" I chuckled
Kamryn was pretty good. He was shooting baskets left and right and he was really putting my skill into the ground. I was down by 3 points and we were doing first one to 20.
"This is gonna be it pretty boy" Kamryn smirked throwing his free throw
"Ha you missed" I mocked and snatched the ball
I shot and he jumped in front of the basket body checking me into the ground.
"Shooting foul!" I yelled
"Fuck" he groaned
I got two free throws and now it was anyone's game. I got the rebound and tossed it in the basket finally winning. I was busting a sweat and I could barley breath. My lungs felt like they were on fire and my mouth was so dry.
"All star my cock" I smiled the sweat dripping down my lips
"I'm a little rusty" he shrugged
"Let's go boys. Showers" A guard yelled
We were handcuffed and escorted to the showers along with all the other guys who were on death row. I'm yet to have a shower in jail and I don't know how I feel about it. I've heard a lot of dropping the soap jokes.
"20 minutes" the guard said
I stood their for a second not knowing what to even do. I followed Kamryn around and he grabbed a towel and a bag with a bar of soap in it.
"Your soap you use that just rub it all over" he chuckled
I stood their for a second. No face cloth are you deadass. I watched as he disappeared behind one of the few showers with a curtain and that is exactly what I was heading for. If I had to take a cold shower and wait for Kamryn's shower I fucking will. I am not gay. I'm not being that close to a bunch of naked dudes.
"Bro how long you gonna be?" I asked
Kamryn's head popped out of the curtain his head covered in shampoo.
"Go in that shower down their nobody ever showers over their" he pointed "and take this"
He handed me shampoo and I went over to this place that was kinda hidden. Nobody was here and I just wanted to shower as quick as I could so I could get dressed. I was all sweaty and hot or else I wouldn't even be doing this.
I wrapped the towel around me and got dressed in my grey sweats and my sliders. Wrapping the towel around my neck I walked into where everyone else was and Kamryn was looking his reflection off in the mirror. He smirked at himself and ran his hand over his facial hair before pushing his blonde hair back.
"Let's go men" the guard yelled
Someone bumped into me and pushed me back a little.
"Watch our buddy!" I spat
"Oh your Kamryn's puppy" he smirked
Kamryn's puppy? What the fuck was that supposed to mean.
"What the fuck does that mean?"
"It means you follow Myers around like you sucking him" he laughed
That's all he had to say for me to punch him square in his face. He was throwing punches back and knocked me in the lip. That's when I seen Kamryn coming in to see the commotion.
"Yo what the fuck-"
He seen this dude punch me in my mouth and he was running over to him and punched him back. Then they started fighting and I hopped back in and the guard finally got through everyone and they pushed us all on the ground and cuffed us.
"That's how we do it round here boy I'll jump you with him" Kamryn smiled
The cops pulled Kamryn and I off the ground. They dragged us down a hall by our cuffs and into this room. The door slammed and we were each in a chair facing a sheriff.
"Let's look at the write ups" he said pulling our field up
"You two were involved in a fight?"
"Yes" I said
"Someone give me a run down of what happened. Since it was in the showers were going to have to go by the story"
"I was walking out and some dude said I was a puppy and basically that I was suckin Kamryn and that isn't the truth so I had to hit him and when he swung back Kamryn heard the noises and cane in and hopped in"
"I hopped in cuz he's my boy, we're something like best friends and if my boys swing I swing point blank" he said shrugging
"Well you all hit each other so your gonna get fined $100 for the fight and spend a week in solitary although you two are on death row so you will be assigned PI"
We were walked back downstairs to our cells and Kamryn was laughing it up the whole time talking about PI and how it's the best way to get out of staying in the cell. I was excited to start tomorrow
