I turned the car off and waited in the parking lot in front of the alley way. I knew that we had to go to this meeting but I didn't wanna go I just wanted to be done with this whole thing.
"Fuck it let's go" I groaned getting out of the car
"I was gonna go anyway Jake. I'm apart of this life still"
"I know but I can't be Grace is pregnant this environment isn't good for the baby"
"I know, I wanna get out of it too but gang is family" Rico said
I shook my head and opened my trunk and moved things aside to go in the compartment that has the jack and extra tire for your car. I pushed the tire aside and picked up my gun and shoved it in the waistband of my pants. I didn't know what I was walking into even though it's my gang, Snake isn't so happy with me right now. You had special attire for being in a gang if you didn't have a gun it didn't make sense because that's what gang members carry around.
"Where's your gun Rico?"
"Right here" He said touching his waistband
Rico and I walked down the alley until we got to the other side to the old building that we held our meetings in. It was a little two story house that was old and abandoned. We held our meetings in the basement.
"Jake glad you showed up" Snake said
"Well did I really have a choice Snake?"
"Not really your apart of this family, come meetings in the basement"
Rico went ahead of me and I looked around before I closed the creaky door behind us. The floorboards creaked all the way to the basement door and the stairs were kind of wobbly one day they were just gonna fall down.
"We have a special guest" Snake said
Everyone snapped their necks towards the stairs and saw Rico and then smiled when they saw me. Their was 6 of us all together and a couple of them I was close with.
"Miles I've missed you" Blane said using my nickname
"Yeah I've missed you too"
"Where have you been Miles?" Blane asked
"It's a long story Blane I don't really want this life anymore"
"Miles were a family you can't just leave"
"Yeah but you don't understand-"
"Enough about your personal life Jake nobody wants to hear it" Snake said sitting at the table
I took a seat in the middle of Blane and Rico. I already hated being at this meeting and it hasn't even started yet. I used to love this the gang used to be my life but now Grace and that baby is my life.
"Jake!" Snake yelled slamming his hand on the table
"What!" I hissed
"Pay the fuck attention! before I smack you upside your face!" Snake yelled
"I've been fucking listening" I said rolling my eyes
"Watch it Jake" He said "We've come across the east side they want a fight. They have one of or west side guys and we him back we're gonna have to battle it out with these guys"
"How many of us are you sending?" Ace asked
"I'm sending our three best guys. Rico Blane and Jake"
"Why do I gotta go I told you I'm done with this shit Snake it's over"
"Tell me Jake why so bad do you want this to end?"
"Because I have personal issues I already told you"
"Elaborate"
"Snake I'm not involving you with the problem it's a private thing and I don't want you to know"
"Jake just tell him" Rico said
"Rico shut up he dosent need to know about Grace" I slipped
"Grace is that what this is about" He smirked
Snake has nerve liked any of our girlfriends he always thought they were a distraction and women weren't good influence for the gang. Which he was right cause right now that's the reason I wanna leave if Grace wasn't pregnant I'd still be here.
"Tell me Jake is she pregnant?" Snake smirked
"How the hell would you even assume something like that?"
"Because you've been with Grace a while the gang never seemed to be a problem before"
"It's because I'm done with this like Snake don't fucking assume shit" I snapped
"Really Jake can't keep your dick in your pants"
"Fuck you Snake, I fucked up ok cut me some fucking slack" I yelled
Snake didn't like the fact I disrespected him in front of everyone so he grabbed my neck and slammed me into the wall.
"Who do you think you are Jake you disrespectful little asshole" He said squeezing his hand tighter on my neck
"Get off" I gasped
Snake spun me around and put me in a choke hold then Rico ran over to snake and pulled him back while Blane broke him away from me.
"Your lucky I don't kill you" Snake said slapping me across my face hard
"I really fucking hate you Snake" I yelled causing another slap to sting my cheek
"Stop hitting me you abusive motherfucker" I yelled louder
"What are you gonna do Jake hit me back? Do it" He said shoving me back
I swung at Snake clocking him in his jaw and he punched me back right in my nose and I started bleeding.
"Cut the fucking shit Jake I mean it!" He screamed in my face
I was to busy grabbing my bloody nose that I didn't even respond to Snake. He walked up the stairs and Rico went to get me some paper towels for my nose.
"Jake here, apply pressure" Rico said
"In fine Rico. Back up" I said trying to breath
"What the fuck" Blane said
"I feel like my nose is broken" I said
"I don't think it's broken Miles but you might need stitches on your head"
"Probably, he hit my eye and then grazed my nose"
I looked in the mirror at myself trying to clean the blood off my face and I had a gash on my forehead and a devolving black eye. Grace is gonna wonder what kind of fight I got into. This wasn't anything new Snake always hit me because I never knew how to keep my mouth shut.
