Rico's pov

I watched Grace drive off beyond furious at me. I knew that me telling her I cheated was gonna crush her. I didn't know what to say it's been burning inside me. It hurts me to see her hurt and I know she's falling in love. I know I told her I'm falling in love with her but I have so much on my mind. I don't know how much longer I can just do this to Jake.

He's never gonna know if he dies and I can't even believe this happened to him. He got into an accident with stupid Ash. I told him not to get involved but he did. I tried to replay that day over in my head like I should have noticed something.

Jake walked down the wooden stairs and everyone looked at him. He didn't notice anyone but Ash who was staring into his eyes. Jake looked confused and bothered.

We were at one of those gang meetings and I rarely paid any attention. It was always Glass just bitching about something. Today he was reassigning people. He told me I would be continuing what I was doing so I didn't really listen.

"Listen boys your gonna be apart of this business" Glass sad

"Who?" Jake asked

"You. Your gonna join Ash in the women business"

I knew what he was talking about. I don't think Jake knew about the prostitution that happened because we were working on outside jobs mostly where this is an inside thing that Ash ran. I only knew about it because it was an option thrown at me when I was injured when I got shot a few months ago.

"Your gonna be pimping with ash. He's the main leader. He runs the show he takes and receives the money. Plans the girls. Does the calls. Your gonna be co apart of this. That's where I need you in this gang Jake" Glass explained

I was paying attention I was looking down at the coffee table. My necklace was hanging down and I was just watching it spin in a circle.

"Don't look at him. He's not apart of this" Glass hissed

I looked up when he said that because I knew he was talking about me. Sure enough I met eyes with Jake and he gave me a look like what's up and I just brushed him off. He was to involved with Ash right now and plus I was fucking his wife.

The meeting was over and Ash ran upstairs. I was holding the pool stick and I seen Jake get off the couch and chase after him. What the fuck is up with them two. Why is Jake up his ass? He has his own kid to worry about and parent he can't help Ash anymore he's in a gang for god sakes.

I threw the pool stick on the table and walked over to the stairs quietly. I tried to listen to what they were talking about and Ash was gushing about some pussy he was in love with. Jake was all "Aw" about it and it pissed me off. They started talking about how she liked this other guy and the story was getting good but glass ripped me down from the stairs and pulled me into his office.

I was pacing around trying to see what was wrong with that story but nothing was. I needed to go talk to Ash and see what the rest of that story was and what the fuck happened that night when he left with him. That was the last time I seen him and graces.

I drove to ash's apartment that I knew he would be at because this is the time everyday he comes home to shower, eat, make some plays and change up before he would go back and see Jake tonight. I got out of the car and walked upstairs and knocked on his door.

"Hold on" I heard faintly

The door opened and Ash was standing their. He was so young and he was involved in all this shit. He has a lot of growing up to do he's not even 15 yet. His hair was all wet and he just has basketball shorts on. Probably out of the shower.

"Wassup man?" He asked

"Can I come inside I need to talk to you" I said

He opened the door more for me and then closed it behind me. I walked in and sat down on the couch.

"Sorry for the mess man my nephew was over a little while ago" he said pushing baby toys around

"It's cool man I just needed to talk to you about the day of the accident"

"Oh shit" he said sinking down to the chair

It hit him hard I'm sure. The accident was a bad day for him to he almost died. Jake is nearly dead. I guess one of them had to pay. For something stupid that could have been avoided I'm sure. Ash is the cause of this. He's the reason Jake might not live.

"Yeah I just wanna rundown of that day" I asked

"Are you serious?" He asked like I was lying

"No bro I came all the way over here because I wanna see you shirtless? The fuck yes nigga I wanna hear the story. Jake my best fucking friend, my cousin. My blood. He might not make it because of somewhere he was with you. What the fuck were you doing?" I spat

Ash shifted around. He looked pissed.

"Listen. I don't know who you think you are. You come in my house acting all tough. I know Jake is your family and all but Jake has been their for me for the past few months and I love him just as much as you do. So please politely ask me for something next time. I may be 14 but I'm not a kid" He hissed
