So I guess I'm going to try to still update regularly. It's either write more or sit around a cry... The only thing keeping me going is me portraying Connor as a happy person in this story... and that I know Connor wouldn't want us to be depressed.

Ricky's POV

Five days have passed and I couldn't stop myself any longer. I had to call Daphne. I just had to. I fumbled around my bed, searching for my phone. After about a minute of looking, I realized that my phone was in my pocket.

"You're a genius, Ricky," I mumbled to myself.

Within seconds, my phone was pressed to my ear and I was waiting for an answer.

"Hello?" Daphne's happy voice rang through my ears.

"Hey Daphne, it's um, Ricky," I stated nervously.

She paused.

I raised an eyebrow. "Ricky Dillon."

No response.

"The guy who you bumped into at the mall a few days ago."

Yet again, no response.

"I bought you coffee and you gave me your number!"

Daphne began laughing. Her laugh was so cute. "Ricky, calm down! I'm kidding!"

I laughed along with her. "Oh okay good! You had me worried there."

She laughed quietly again. "Ricky, I couldn't forget you."

I smiled. "Well you're all I've been thinking about lately."

"Really?"

"Of course! I mean, how could I not?"

She giggled. "Then why'd you wait so long to call me?"

"Well my friend Connor told me that if I called right away, it'd make me seem too desperate."

She laughed. "It's desperate to call a girl the same day she gives you her number?"

"That's exactly what Amy said!"

"Amy? Who's Amy?"

"My ex-girlfriend."

"Oh...you still talk to your ex-girlfriend..."

"Well yeah she's kinda my friend I guess."

"Oh," Daphne said flatly.

"But anyway, I was calling to see if you wanted to come over and watch movies or whatever with me," I suggested.

"Oh Ricky, I don't know."

"Why not?" I asked, worried.

"I'm not sure how I feel about hanging out alone at a guy's house. Let alone a guy I just met.

She had a point.

"We don't have to be alone! You could invite some friends if you want," I suggested.

"I don't really have any friends yet."

"Yet?"

"Oh I guess I forgot to tell you that I just moved here from Chicago for college."

"Really? Well I can invite a few friends over to make it less awkward?"

"Sounds great! What time should I be there?" she asked.
