Amy's POV

I stared wide-eyed into Connor's eyes. Spencer was Daphne's brother? Daphne knew the guy that almost killed me? This raised a few more questions. Did craziness run in their family? Did Daphne know that her brother was after me all this time?

"A-are you okay?" Connor asked gently.

To be quite honest, no I was nowhere near okay. Every time that Daphne's name would be mentioned, all I'd be able to think about is Spencer. That moment would never leave my brain. I shook my head slowly. I got off of Connor's bed and ran out of the room without saying a word to Connor. I ran down the hall and bumped face-first into someone. I looked up and met the person's eyes and saw that it was Daphne. Her face was red and tear-streaked.

"H-hey Amy," she stammered quietly.

My eyes widened and my breathing had become shallow. I backed away from her slowly, only causing Daphne to walk toward me again.

"I'm sorry about what my brother did to you," she stated. "Ricky told me."

"Yeah right," I blurted out, backing away from her. "You were probably ecstatic when you found out it was me."

She shook her head quickly. "No, I wasn't! When I found out it was you, I felt awful."

"I highly doubt that. You know what, Daphne? I bet you were even in on it," I said through clenched teeth.

"Don't talk to her like that!" Ricky exclaimed from behind her. "Daphne's trying to apologize and you're making things worse!"

"You don't understand," I retorted.

Daphne took a step toward me and placed her hand gently on my shoulder. "I know it was terrifying and I definitely can't say I know what you're going through, but Spencer was my brother and I'm hurting too."

"Don't touch me!" I shouted slapping her hand off my shoulder.

"Amy please," Daphne pleaded.

"Just leave me the hell alone, okay?!"

"Amy! Could you be more insensitive?" Ricky interjected.

"What is this, everyone against Amy day?!" I yelled, tears forming.

I wasn't exactly sure why I was crying. Was it because I was angry at the moment? Was it because I was still coping with what happened only a day earlier? Was it a mixture of both? I wasn't sure exactly. All I knew was that I wanted Daphne to get the hell away from me. I looked into Daphne's eyes and she was crying too. I knew she was hurting too, but honestly for some odd reason, I didn't give a damn. Just looking at her face, reminded me so much of what happened yesterday. I could no longer stop myself and I completely broke down. I fell to my knees on the floor, sobbing. I hated myself so much for crying like this in front of Daphne and Ricky. Daphne extended her hand to offer to help me up, but I didn't want it. I shook my head rapidly.

"Stay away from me!" I shrieked.

I felt as if I was back in that situation I was in yesterday and that was the last place I wanted to be. I could still see Spencer's face only inches from mine. The hatred was obvious in his facial expression. The cool metal of the knife was pressed firmly against my throat and I had trouble breathing. I screamed as loud as I could and the next thing I knew, someone's comforting arms were around me. I felt myself being lifted off the floor and I cuddled my face into his neck. I felt safe again. He brought me into his room and laid me down gently on his bed.

"Shh everything's okay," Ricky whispered into my ear.

I sat up quickly and moved away from him. I looked around and we were indeed in his room. I saw Daphne standing awkwardly in the corner, causing even more tears to fall. This entire time I thought it was Connor who carried me and brought me to safety, but it was Ricky. Suddenly Ricky's door flew open and I saw Connor standing there. Speak of the devil. Connor's entire expression softened and he ran over to me.

"Oh baby," he said gently.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and he lifted me up, holding me protectively in his arms. He looked from Ricky to Daphne to me.

"I think it was too soon for either of you to be talking to her about this," Connor stated, sounding a bit angry before carrying me out of the room.

Connor sat me down on his bed and buried his face in his hands. I felt really bad. Not only was my life complicated, but I was making the people around me have complicated lives as well. I didn't want to tell Connor what I was about to say, but I felt as if I owed it to him.

"Connor, I'm sorry," I told him.

"No need to apologize."

"There's something important I need to tell you."

He gave me his undivided attention. "Sure, you can tell me anything."

"Ithinkweshouldbreakup," I said all in one breath.

"What?" he asked, a confused look on his face.

I took a deep breath. "Connor, I think we should break up," I said a lot more clearly.

I tried my best not to cry and for the first time, I was actually able to hold my tears back. I couldn't say the same about Connor, though.

"W-what? You can't be serious," he choked out.

"I am," I stated, not looking at him.

"But why?" he asked, a tear falling down his face.

"I'm ruining your life Connor! You can't be happy as long as I'm around. If I never came around, you'd be happy right now!"

"I am happy with you!" he exclaimed. "If you never came around, I'd be lonely right now. I love you, Amy and I don't think I can live without you."

"I love you too, Connor, but that's why I want to break up! I want your life to be simple and happy," I replied.

"If you left, things would be even more complicated, Amy," he said. "Please don't do this."

More tears formed in his eyes and I practically broke down again.

"Please don't do this to me," he whispered. "I need you."

His comment made a tear roll down my cheek. He held my hand in both of his.

"Stay with me," he pleaded.

I nodded. "Okay," I whispered. "I won't leave you."

He sighed, relieved. "I love you," he whispered and pulled my lips to his.

Ricky's POV

"Ricky?" Daphne said softly.

"Yeah?"

"There's something I need to tell you."

"Go ahead."

"You won't like what I'm about to say," she trailed.

"Just tell me," I encouraged.

She sighed and paced back and forth across the room for a few minutes, stalling. "I did have something to do with my brother finding Amy."
