The treehouse is huge is quite big- bigger than normal tree houses. There's a massive oak tree on the field; my uncle bought the land because he was planning to sell it in the auctions to get profit. Jasper and I would always climb that certain tree.
But on the day of the auction I started to cry. I didn't want that tree to be demolished so they could build a fancy house. I wanted my happy memories to last forever with my brother. My uncle understood me and decided to stop the auction. He decided on making us a treehouse on the old oak tree.
I love my uncle. He moved to Seattle last year and gave the land to Jasper and I.
The treehouse has a small lounge with a connected play station and a small fridge with food. I hang out here a lot, especially when I'm upset.
When Max raped me, I came here. There's a small window on the ceiling so we can look at the stars. I looked up into it and wished for safety. And I knew that whenever I was here I was safe; back in my childhood along with the happy memories with Jasper and my uncle. Everything was perfect.
I walked Hunter to the ladder. "Do you, Hunter Grey swear upon your life not to tell anyone else about this safe haven?" I ask seriously and he smiles, "I promise."
"Permission granted." I guide him up the ladder. When we reach the top, he helps me up.
As a child, Jasper and I always did the 'swear upon your life promise' to anyone else that came here. We agreed to only ever tell one other person about this place. I choose Hunter. Jasper hasn't chosen yet.
"This place is amazing." Hunter grins as he looks around. When he sees the glass roof his mouth drops open, "There are so many stars out here." He exclaims and I nod, "I know. It's my favourite place in the world." I smile with him and look up in the sky.
Hunter and I lye on the mattress and look up into the dark sky.
"I always used to come here as a child. It was my sanctuary." I say quietly and Hunter turns to look at me.
"Was?" He asks and I smile, "is. it still is my sanctuary. This is my real home." I sigh in content and side-hug Hunter on the bed.
"I wish we could stay here forever." Hunter whispers and I smile at him, "me too."
I get up and go to the small kitchen. I pull out a small kitchen knife and walk down the ladder again. "Where are you going?" Hunter asks, following behind me.
"You'll see." I shrug. When I drop down to the bottom I look around the old oak tree and see the small heart shape that encircles E+J.
Below that heart I begin to carve another heart. When I'm done, I write in the centre: E+
I hand the knife to Hunter but when he tries to take it, I pull my hand back. Hunter looks at me in confusion, "this tree is my happiness, Hunter. I think you as a part of my happiness. Please don't hurt me too badly, I don't want bad memories here." I beg and a small tear slips down my face.
Hunter gives me a small smile and holds my cheek. He kisses me with so much love, I want to burst. "I don't ever want to hurt you." He replies, his eyes a little glossy, too.
I want to tell him I love him, but if he doesn't love me back, this bad memory would be left here to drown in sorrow. I don't want that. There's still a missing H to my heart.
