I just thought I'd show you what Zero looks like :) It's the closest thing I could find to what was in my head, so I'm sorry if I killed your imagination!
"So why did you come here then?" Beaula asks in confusion, "Were you coming to say goodbye to Hunter or leave with him?"
I keep my mouth zipped and briefly exclaim, "Well, I wanted to talk to him first. But after I saw... That... I can't help but think that it was some sort of sign to not go with him. I don't know, it's stupid." I sigh.
"What do you mean a 'sign'?" Thea asks me, hurt clear on her face.
I look away from her, feeling some guilt as I say, "I felt betrayed from what I saw and it sort of reminded me of how I apparently 'betrayed' Hunter and left him to New York and came back with a boyfriend. I'm just so confused. And trapped. I feel trapped in between Zero and him."
Beaula nods in understanding, her confidence slowly coming back, "We didn't think you'd feel that way from what you saw- and we're super sorry. But Emmerson, you can't keep looking back at the past to remember the bad things. You need to stay in the present, as corny as that sounds."
I sigh glumly, "Yeah, I know. What should I do, they're two completely different futures."

REWIND TO BACK 10 PM
"I think I've made a decision, Maria." I tell her, a small smile playing at the corners of my lips.
Her interest sparks up as she patiently waits for the second brew of water to boil in the kettle, "Who?"
Just as I say his name, the kettle squeals loudly, signalling that it has reached it's highest temperature.
"I have to go talk to Hunter. I just want to set some things straight with him, before he..." I mumble and quickly and scramble off of my chair.
"Wait." Maria shouts, "I'll drive you!"
I nod in appreciation as quickly head to the garage and wait. After a few minutes, my patience wears down and I begin to wonder where Maria is, so I head back inside the house and check around for her. I thought she said she was driving me?
With no luck in finding her after a good hunt of ten minutes long, I head back to the garage in defeat. It's too late to call a driver. How am I supposed to talk to Hunter?"What are you doing standing there? Get in the car, girl." Maria chuckles from inside the vehicle, giving me a huge fright.
"Maria! Where were you?" I shriek and jump inside, my heart still thumping wildly in my chest.
She shrugs innocently, but a tiny smirk edges on her lips.
When we arrive at Hunter's house, I turn to Maria, "I'll text you when to pick me up. Can you text me when Beaula and Thea are home? I'm beginning to worry about them."
I haven't seen them since they shooed me off to go talk to Hunter.
Maria nods, "Of course. I'll stay up as long as you need me to, no rush, okay?"
I smile, "Thank you so much." After kissing her cheek, I hesitantly exit the car and walk up to Hunter's house.
I knock on it five times, but when nobody answers, I attempt to push the door open. It budges slightly and then successfully opens, allowing me access inside.
How careless of him to keep it unlocked at night; unless he's awake. But who I see- or rather, what I see, gives me the surprise of my life.
Both Beaula and Thea are entangled in a very intense make-out session.
"Guys?" I squeak in confusion and shock and stare down at my two friends.
Thea shrieks and pushes Beaula's body from above her, causing her to fall off the couch in surprise.
They both scramble up from the floor and couch, readjusting their tousled shirts.
A stab of shock hits me, "What...When..?"
Both of their cheeks flame in embarrassment and Thea looks everywhere but at me.
"We can explain..." Beaula drawls out that overly mainstream verse.
Something inside of me ignites- a sort of anger caused by my two best friends keeping something as big as this away from me, "What the fuck is going on?"
Beaula cringes, "Okay, well, we had that coming." She shrugs, "Thea and I like each other, is it such a problem that you need to look at us like we've just eaten a dog?"
Completely flustered and dumbfounded, I say, "A problem? I don't care if you're lesbian or bisexual or homosexual or whatever the hell you two are. The only problem I have is that you've been hiding this from me and I've been too naïve to notice it! Why didn't you tell me? That hurts, you know? Why didn't you guys tell me? Am I not trustworthy enough- Actually, I shouldn't even be asking myself that question. You two aren't trustworthy enough! I consider you as my best friends yet you are willing to hide something like this, feign a friendship when it's obviously something more, right in front of me!" I say in complete exasperation.
