Chapter 22- Broke your heart.

Erika's POV-
It was Alissa. I haven't talked to her in years.

On the phone:
E- Hello?..
A- Hey Erika! It's me Alissa.
E- OMG HEY BABY
A- i heard your in LA. Well that you live here, AND I HAVENT HEARD FROM YOU
E- I know, i'm sorry Liss. Being a mom is so much.
A- lets meet up. I wanna meet baby...
E- Joseph. Yeah for sure, this Saturday??
A- Yay! You me Joseph and T? I heard y'all live together or whatever
E- Yeah for sure. See you saturday!
A- bye babe!

Off phone.

I was playing with Jakes hair as i was talking to Alissa. He rolled his eyes the whole time i was on the phone. I know he still hated Alissa but she was MY friend.
When i got off the phone i realized that it was 2:45 pm. And Joseph gets out at three.
E: I'm going for Joseph, wanna go?
J: I guess.
E: I mean.. you dont have to go, i'm not forcing yo-
J: I said i'll go.

There was sass in his voice. I roll my eyes and grab the keys. I walk down to the Tesla and he follows.
I get in the driver seat and he climbs into the passenger seat. He slams the door a bit and sighs.
E: Honestly, i don't need your negative energy around me right now Jake. 
J: Whatever Erika, just drive.
E: Are you gonna change your attitude?

He doesn't talk. He just sits there looking out the window. I notice that his jaw is clenched and so are his fist.
E: Was it Alissa that made you feel like-
J: No Erika. Just shut up and drive.
E: Wow okay. Whatever.

I drive off and pull into the carpool lane in Joseph's school.
I ser Joseph and a teacher holding his hand walking towards our car. The teacher opens the back door and Joseph climbs into his car seat. When the teacher closes the door, we drive off.

E: How was your first day baby?
Jo: It good momma! I made friends
E: Really how many??
Jo: Like this many.

He holds up all ten of his fingers and smiles.
I look at him through the rear view mirror.
E: That's great baby!

I look over at Jake who was silent. I nudge his arm so that he could also ask about Joseph's day.

J: What activities did you do today bud?
Jo: We learn colors and some alphabets
J: Let me here your alphabet buddy.
Jo: a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w-w x y z
E: That's so good baby! You learned that in one day?
Jo: Yup Miss. Carter taught me today!
J: We need to celebrate! Want to get ice cream after dinner bud?
Jo: YEA YEAH!

I smile at Joseph and kept driving.
Once we arrived, team team was in the living room waiting for Joseph.
We walked in and they all greeted Joseph.

Jo: Hey guess what!
Tessa: What's up Jo?
Jo: I learn my alphabet!
Chance: No way!!!
Chad: Lets here it buddy

Kade: That's great buddy!!! You're so smart.

everyone high-fives Joseph and we Tessa and I start on Dinner.
E: Jake, watch Joseph, Tessa and i are making dinner
J: Whatever.

I walk into the kitchen and Tessa had already bought stuff to make spaghetti and salad.
T: This is gonna be a goooood dinner night ayeee.

I laugh. Tessa boils water for the noodles and i start chopping things for the salad.
E: So...
T: OMG you have tea! Spill it.
E: Not so much tea.. but guess who called me today?
T: WHO?????
E: It was Alissa.
T: Really?!? Ohhhhh yeah!!! She lives here right?
E: Yeah, she wants to meet up and catch up on saturday.
T: That's cool!
E: Yeah, You me her and Joseph.
T: Wait! She wants me to go?!?!!
E: Yes.
T: OH YAY! I can't wait. I do miss her
E: Me too. But then...
T: Oh no... what?
E: Jake heard my whole convo with her and got salty that we made plans.
T: Mhm..
E: And he's been having this attitude with me ever since.
T: When did this happen?
E: This afternoon.
T: Aw i'm sorry pickle!
E: It's whatever.. I can also be a bitch to him.

Tessa lets out a slight laugh.
We finish dinner and everyone sits down.

Jo: OH MY FAVORITE PASGETI (spaghetti)

Everyone laughs.
E: I'm so glad your learning things so fast baby
Jo: Yup! And my teacher is nice and has brown hair!
Chance: Brown hair?
E: He's also learning his colors.
Kade: WOW what can't you do?
Jo: count my numbers.
Tessa: you'll learn soon kid!
Jake: Yeah you'll be counting to 100 soon.
Jo: We going get ice cream still daddy?
Jake: Of course we are buddy! Do you wanna invite the team?
Jo: Hey guys! I'm going to get ic cream for learning my alphabet. Want to come?
T10: Yes!

We finish eating and leave for froyo. We all order and sit. Jake sits next to me but not close. I roll my eyes because he's being so childish.
Joseph: Mommy! Guess what?
Erika: What baby?
Joseph: I have 2 girlfriends now! Samantha and Becca

I almost choke on my froyo. Team ten pauses and their jaws drop.
Jake: Good job buddy!

I turn to Jake and slap his arm to make him stop. But he didn't.
J: Two girlfriends in one day? You're a player! Just like dad.

I think Team 10 felt the tension in the air because they just stayed quiet and watched us like we were a tv show. 
J: did you kiss them?
E: Okay, no.

I put my hand over Jakes mouth to prevent him from talking.
E: Joseph, you can not have a girlfriend yet. You're just a baby. My baby.

Jake jerks my arm down to move my hand.
Jake: Oh don't baby him. He's gotta grow up soon.
Erika: Jake, shut up.
Jake: What? Can't handle a little reality. Wake up Erika, he's going to socialize with girls. He is going to make friends.
E: Yeah, but you know how i-

I look over at team ten who was just observing us and I stop.
E: Whatever. Lets go. It's getting late.

We get to the house and i put Joseph to sleep since he has school in the morning.
I walk over to change into my shorts and a sports bra.
I walk to bed and Jake is there scrolling through his phone.

E: You were being a real dick today.
J: No you're being bitchy. Your pregnant hormones are showing.
E: Wow, see... You're being a dick.
J: Yeah sure Erika. I'm not always going to kiss your ass and baby you.

I snap and lose it at this point.
E: It's because i'm talking to Alissa isn't it?
J: Shut up erika. You know it's not true.
E: Aww, is big boy mad this his girlfriend is talking to his ex girlfriend? Get over it Jake. We are friends. I don't care that she broke your he-

I stop myself because i could feel myself taking it to far. But i had it so i just finished my thought.
E: That she broke your heart.

Then Jake looked up at me and did the unthinkable..
