it's the next morning, and today i'm especially dreading going to school. i throw on some clothes, being careless about how i look this morning. i slide my curtains open to let the sunlight pour through, and of course matt's curtains are open too.
i get a good view of him changing his shirt, and it causes my cheeks to turn pink.
why the hell does he have them open if he's still changing?
i turn away quickly then rush out my bedroom, saying goodbye to my mom. i go out the front door and head to my car.
i insert the key, but the car won't turn on. hell no, this can't be happening to me. i attempt again, but it fails. my mom isn't going to have enough time to take me to school, so what now?
i see matt coming out of his house, and today i have no choice. i gather my things and slam my car door shut, "matt! hey matt!" i begin running towards him.
he sees me which causes him to run to his car as fast as he can, "oh come on! i need your help, please!" i yell, almost tripping.
he makes it safely into his car and locks it. i'm late by just a few seconds, and i slam my fists against his window, "matt, please help me!"
he rolls the window just a bit, enough to hear what i have to say, "okay first of all, don't bang on my windows," he points at me, "and what the fuck do you want?"
"my car isn't working, so can you take me with you?" i give him a teeny smile, hoping that he says the answer that i want.
"how about no?" i hear the engine start.
"pretty please! i have a test today! i can't miss it!" i clasp my hands together, begging.
matt sighs, "that isn't my problem, so move out of the way." he honks the horn.
"but remember last night?"
he nods and i continue, "you lost the bet, you have to be nice to me for the whole day." i smirk.
he rolls his eyes, "you're not being serious, are you?"
"unlock the door, a bet is a bet." i cross my arms.
i hear the click, and i rush over to the passenger seat. once inside, i make myself comfortable, "hey can we stop for some coffee?" i buckle my seatbelt.
"no, we can't-" he pauses, realizing he gave me the wrong answer, "sure, we can stop for coffee." he gives me a fake smile.
i dig through my backpack, looking for enough money to pay for a coffee, "nevermind, i don't have enough money." damn, i really am broke.
"your broke ass needs to-" matt sighs heavily, "don't worry, i'll pay."
i giggle, "who knew that you could be this nice?"
"hilarious."
after a drive that seemed to take thirty minutes, i'm more than excited to finally get out of his car. matt, finally parks in the parking lot that's almost completely filled with cars, and i eagerly get out the car with my coffee in my hand.
"hey, matt?" i break the silence, while we cross the school courtyard along with other students.
"what is it?" he shoves his hands into his pockets, and stares down at his feet as he walks
"i don't have anyone to sit with at lunch today, can we possibly sit with each other?" i ask for the favor, hoping he wont reject me even though he isn't allowed to for today.
he walks ahead of me, but speaks loud enough for me to hear, "what about your friend?"
"we don't have the same lunch period."
"i don't really have a choice, so sure." he walks further away. he catches people's attention as always, and they start trailing behind him as if he's a celebrity.
and, matt champion being matt champion, he ignores them all.
