MATT'S POV
the boys came over at my place today, and they don't know a thing about what happened yesterday. they're all sitting on the floor having a conversation. meanwhile, i'm sitting on my bed just scrolling through my phone, not really interested in what they're talking about. every time i glance at them, they're whispering back and forth to each other while looking over at me.
i ignore it, until i hear someone sigh dramatically, "what's up with you, matt?" merlyn asks, sounding concerned, "you're a little more quiet than usual."
dom, laughs quietly to himself, "i bet it has something to do with, everlee."
"guys, i like her." i blurt, still keeping my eyes on my phone screen. i couldn't help but just tell them already, a part of me felt guilty from only telling, ameer.
the room becomes silent, which is the last thing i expected. i thought they were gonna freak out, and start asking a shit ton of questions.
"oh, we already knew that, you don't have to tell us," romil shrugs, "but you should definitely tell her how you feel."
i toss my phone onto my bed, finally putting all my attention into the conversation, "i did that yesterday."
joba gasps, "should we start picking out the colors for the wedding?"
"what do you think about lavender?" ameer suggests.
bearface, tells them to quiet down, "but how did it go right after you told her?" he says excitedly.
"horrible," i sigh, "i told her while we were in the middle of a fight."
merlyn frowns, "why did you guys fight?"
"can we talk not talk about that part?" i ask, and they nod their heads, respecting my decision, "but it ended up with me telling her that i don't want anything to do with her anymore."
joba slowly gets up, "what? matt, are you sure about this?" he sounds and looks upset.
i nod, "i think so."
"but you look so happy every time you're with her." ameer, says while having a sad expression all over his face, and so do the rest. it seems like they're still trying to process all of this in.
"i don't know what happened between you two, but i do know that you care about her and like her a lot. i mean, look at that." romil, points to my nightstand.
i look, and see that he's pointing at, everlee's, homemade birthday card that i displayed.
i rush over to my nightstand, grab the card, and toss it into my trash can.
dom starts, "matt, you can't-"
i cut him off, "guys, it's over. no more, everlee." i tell them. it even hurt me a little to say that aloud.
hopefully, i don't regret this in the future.
