MATT'S POV

days later, i decide to finally do my corny promposal for everlee.

looking back at the person i was before i met, everlee, i don't think i would have ever imagined doing this for any girl.

but here i am.

also, in case you're wondering, everlee and i did end up helping wesley with studying. he took his calculus test a couple days ago and to all of our surprise, he passed.

anyways, back to the important stuff, i called everlee to come over to my place so i can surprise her. i also invited the boys to help me out, they're in the backyard.

i pace back and forth across my living room, biting my nails. i'm just really hoping this goes well.

i hear a soft knock on the door, so i open it and see everlee. i nervously smile, "hey."

she returns a smile, "hey, matt." she comes inside. she takes a good look of my face, "you okay? you look nervous."

i nod, "yeah, i'm okay." i start to fidget with my hair, "i have something to show you though."

she gives me a weird look as i take her hand, leading her to my backyard.
when we reach the backyard, we see the boys huddled in a circle. everlee waves, "hey guys!"

they break apart from their circle and wave back, "hi everlee!" they say in sync.

she sees the blanket that's laid out on the grass and i can tell that she instantly got excited.

"are we having a picnic?" she asks hopefully.

"not exactly," i let go of her hand and sit on the blanket, "the boys wanted to light up some fireworks for us since they were just in merlyn's garage."

she sits next to me, "are you sure they're qualified to light up fireworks?" she laughs.

"i sure hope so." i chuckle.

"alright, you two ready?" ian asks us.

we nod, and we both lay back on the blanket. the boys whisper back and forth to each other, and finally light up a firework for us.

it takes a few second for it to work, but when it did, an explosion of bright colors shot up into the sky. the boys light up a few more before doing the special one.

they give me a look before deciding to light up the special firework, and i give them a nod. once they lit it up, an explosion of blue and green colors shot up into the sky, forming the word, prom?

i look over at, everlee, for her reaction and she quickly sits up while staring up at the sky. a big smile forms on her face, "yes, a million times yes!" she grabs my face to kiss me.

god, i love her.
