they don't mean what they did before
i just wanna get back to us
'cause we used to have more."

"Go on a date with me."
"What?" I asked, smiling through the phone.
Luke called me on the phone my parents tried to hide from me and since they were out, I managed to find it and answer it in time.
Luke and I had spent a couple days together since the letters started going out and I was hopelessly falling for the blue eyed boy again.
"Come on," he whined. "Like a first date."
"Fine," I bit my lip to stop from smiling. "When?"
"Right now," he said, shuffling around. "I'll pick you up in twenty."
I just laughed and hung up, picking out something to wear.

I threw on one of the flannels in the bag I packed from Luke's, which I assumed to be one of his, some torn blue jeans, and some grey shoes. I threw my hair in a braid, not caring about the loose hairs that fell across my face.
I went downstairs, finding my parents sat at the kitchen counter, my mom cooking and my dad drinking some wine.
"Hey," I smiled at them. "I'm heading out."
"Where to?"
"Umm..with Daniel."
They just nodded and kissed my cheek before I headed outside, already finding Luke parked in his Jeep.
I smiled as he opened the door for me, mumbling, "m'lady."
I hopped inside, tossing my purse in the back as he put the Jeep in drive, driving into town.
"Where are we going?"
"It's a surprise."
He smiled at me, reaching over and putting a hand on my thigh. He instantly pulled away, an apology falling from his lips. "Sorry...habit."
"No, it's okay." I pulled a smile, taking his hand and intertwining our fingers.
Everything with Luke felt so easy. So normal. My thumb brushed against his hand subconsciously, a small smile pulling at his lips.
We pulled up to this Japanese restaurant and many images flashed before my eyes, Luke and I holding hands, basically feeding each other, throwing dumplings at each other. I remember.
"This is our favorite restaurant," he smiled at me, taking my hand. "It's also where we had our first date. So, our second first date."
I just smiled at him. "I remember."
"You do?"
I nodded, squeezing his hand. "I do."
We walked inside, Luke holding the door open like a gentleman before being taken to a table.
We took our seats, memories slowly starting to make their way back into my brain. I focused hard on the menu, trying to remember what we usually get.
"Know what you're getting?" Luke asked, the menu blocking his face.
I smiled at him. "Steak and rice, with mixed vegetables, no onions and extra yum yum sauce."
He lowered the menu, his eyes wide with shock. "You remember?"
I nodded and smiled. "I also remember what we did in the bathroom."
"Hey," he pointed a finger at me, a grin pulling at his lips. "You offered."
I rolled my eyes and smiled, Luke giving the waiter our orders. He out an elbow on the table, setting his chin on his hand before looking over at me and smiling, chewing on his lip ring.
I reached over and touching his lip ring before smiling. "Where'd you get that?"
"One drunk night with the mates," he answered. "It was the night before I met you, actually."
I nodded. "I like it."
He smiled again, his feet kicking at mine. "Sorry, long ass legs."
I laughed, smiling at the blonde boy in front of me. He smiled back, both of just staring at each other in awe. "So, you've been remembering things?"
I nodded. "Yeah, a lot actually, at this rate, I might remember everything soon."
Luke sighed with relief, smiling at me. "I hope so."
"I think that's why my parents wanted me to stay away from you," I said to him. "You told me we lost contact because you and I started dating and I think they only offered to take care of me was because I couldn't remember."
Luke nodded, his blue eyes dancing across mine. I reached out and took his hand, my thumb brushing over his knuckles. "They thought I'd go back to school, forget about you, marry David."
"That's fucked up."
"You're telling me," I rolled my eyes. "David practically forced me to go out with him the other night and my parents just watched him snatch me around."
"He what?"
"He didn't do anythin-"
"Did he touch you?" Luke said lowly. "I'll kill him."
I chuckled, squeezing his hand. "No, no, he's just kind of obsessed with me."
"Well, I am too," he said. "But not in the creepy way, I mean, you actually like me, right?"
"Right." I smiled at him.
We finished eating and headed back to the Jeep, a frown on Luke's lips. "What's wrong?"
"I have to take you home now," he frowned. "I don't want to."
"We don't have to," I smiled. "Let's go to your place."
"No," he shook his head. "As much as I would love, not on the first date, what kind of man would I be?"
I just laughed and climbed it, watching him shoot a wink at me. We pulled up to my house and he smiled, getting out of the car and opening the door for me.
He wrapped his arms around me in a hug, lifting me off my feet. I let out a giggle, wrapping my arms around his neck.
He set me back on the ground, both of our arms not moving. I looked up at him, my fingers clasping his neck. I met his eyes, smiling softly.
"Can I kiss you?"
I nodded, his hands going to my face, his thumbs brushing against my cheekbones. He leaned down and pressed his lips against mine softly.
He lingered for a second before moving his lips softly against mine. I stood on my toes, him moving his hands from my face to my hips, pulling me closer. I wrapped my arms around his neck, my fingers going into his hair.
He pulled back and rested his forehead against mine, breathing heavily. I wrapped my arms around his waist, my head resting against his chest as I hugged him tightly.
His heart was pounding against my ear, hard and fast. I smiled softly, looking up at him.
He smiled, brushing the hair back from my face, resting his hands on my neck. I stood on my toes and pressed one last kiss to his lips before heading inside.
I closed the door and rested my back against it, smiling like a damn idiot.
