they don't mean what they did before
i just wanna get back to us

"When do you go back?" I asked Luke, wrapping my arms around him as he laid down beside me in bed.
"Day after tomorrow."
I frowned, setting my head on his chest. "I don't want you to go."
"I know," he sighed, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me closer. "I don't want to go either."
"Do you like it back home?" I asked, looking up at him.
He moved his hands to my face, brushing the hair from my forehead before resting his hands on my cheeks. "Yeah, it's great."
"You alright?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.
He nodded. "Yeah, of course, just-don't want to leave you again."
"I'll be here when you get back." I said, moving to kiss his lips softly.
"Will you?"
I raised my eyebrows, meeting his blue eyes. "What do you mean?"
He shrugged, looking away from me. "Nothing, I just-I love you."
"I love you." I repeated, setting my head on his chest.
Something was off, different and I couldn't place my finger on it. Luke was being weird. One thing that we promised was that we weren't going to be weird when we met back up at home.
I decided to just shrug it off when he pressed another kiss to my lips, snuggling into my neck.

I woke up the next morning, immediately reaching out for the blonde boy that was here last night.
When he wasn't in his spot, I cracked open my eyes, finding that he wasn't in bed at all. I sat up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.
"Luke?"
I cocked my head to the side, waiting for his response but it never came. I moved from my bed to the kitchen, finding the note plastered on the fridge.
Hey, went to see Ashton, said it was urgent.
- Luke
No I love you, no call you later, no see you later, nothing. Something was going on.
I pulled my phone from my pocket, dialing Ashton's number.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Ash," I said, switching on the coffee maker. "You okay?"
"Yeah," he said slowly. "Why wouldn't I be?"
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Luke left a note saying he went to see you, he said it was urgent."
