I woke up to an overwhelming pounding in my head, my entire body numb. I let out an audible groan, moving my hand to my eyes to cover the bright fluorescent lights.

"Arabella?" Someone said, moving over so their face was hovering over mine.

I squinted at the face in front of me, trying to figure out exactly who it was. A doctor, maybe?

Why was I in the hospital?

"Where am I?" I asked, my voice rough, my throat dry.

"You're in the hospital," the boy said, taking my hand and pressing soft kisses to my knuckles. "I'm so happy you're okay, baby, I was so scared."

I furrowed my eyebrows at the man by my side, with blonde hair and blue eyes, his hair tousled, his facial hair untamed. I slowly pulled my hand from his, watching him look up at me in surprise.

I didn't say anything, just struggling to figure out why I was here and who the hell this stranger was, looking at me like I've done something wrong.

"What's wrong, Bell?" He asked, starting to reach out to me.

I snatched my hand away, panic starting to take over my sleepy senses. "Who are you?"

He just scoffed lightly, running a hand through his hair. "That's not funny, baby."

"Who are you?" I repeated, slowly inching backwards and away from the boy.

He looked up at me, his blue eyes meeting mine. "Arabella, it's me."

I shook my head, opening my mouth and starting to scream for the nurses. "Woah, Bell, calm down, it's me, Luke, your boy-"

I shook my head, scrambling away from him. "No, no, I don't know you, I don't know you-"

The door opened and the familiar faces of my parents walked through, shock written on their faces. "Mom-"

"Arabella, you're fine, baby," she said, moving around the stranger and wrapping her arms tightly around me. "You're okay."

I moved my face into her neck and sobbed, still not remembering why I was here. "Mom, why am I here? I don't remember anything-"

"Shh, calm down, don't work yourself up." She whispered to me as the nurses and doctors poked me and asked questions.

"Do you know your name?" The doctor asked me.

I nodded. "Arabella Toth."

"Do you know how old you are?"

"I'm 24."

The boy with the blue eyes stood at the foot of my bed, his eyes struggling to meet mine.

"Do you know why you're here?"

I quickly shook my head. "I don't know."

"Do you remember me?" Blue eyes asked me.

"Luke." My mother said harshly, snapping her head towards him.

"I don't know who you are, I don't know where I am, why can't I remember anything?" I asked, my chest starting to feel tight as the panic attack slowly crept on.

"Miss Toth, you were in a bad car accident," the doctor said. "You were hurt badly, we know that you have a head injury but we weren't sure how bad it was."

"An accident? A head injury? What's wrong with me?" I said, my breath starting to become more shallow and quicker.

"We're going to figure that out, why don't you calm down?" My mom said, squeezing my hand.

"I can't calm down!" I yelled, pain washing over my entire body. "I can't do anything-I can't remember-"

The blue eyed boy set a hand on mine. "Baby, you need to focus on your breaths-"

"Don't touch me!" I snatched my hand away, nearly following off the bed as I tried to stay away from the stranger.

"Luke, why don't you step out?" The doctor said as the nurse prepped a needle.

"No, I'm not leaving her-"

"Luke, step out." My dad said to him.

The tall boy raised his hands in surrender and met my eyes once again before leaving the room.

"Who is he?" I asked as the nurse pushed new medicine into my IV, my eyes becoming droopy.

My mom took my hand and brushed my hair back from my face. "Nobody, honey, just a friend."

"How do I know him? Why can't I remember him?"

My vision started to blur, my eyes drooping shut. My mom kissed my hand softly. "He's not important, just forget about him, get some rest."

I just nodded and closed my eyes, drifting into sleep.
