Yes hi so apparently I'm a rage case

I hate fads.

No you don't understand I rEALLY hate fads

Things that become popular quickly, gain a ton of traction, and then just kinda disappear

It pisses me off SO MUCH

LITERALLY WHAT THE FUCK

WHY THE INTERNET GOTTA BE LIKE A BUNCH OF MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS

*cough*

If you don't know what I mean by that, lemme give some examples

I wanna clear up real quick that I do not hate any of these, I just hate that they're fads

Bendy and the Ink Machine. It showed up outta nowhere, got really popular really fast...and then suddenly there was a whole new hot game to talk about and wait but what happened

I mean there's still a BATIM fandom

But the main craze has died down

Because it was a fad

A lot of the time, I try to ignore fads.
But first it was BATIM, then it was Cuphead, then it was smth else that I can't remember, then it was Doki Doki Literature Club, now it seems to be Detroit: Become Human

Again, I don't have anything against these. I just despise popular things.

And I don't have anything against people who like them. It just for some reason really annoys me when things get super popular out of nowhere

They're trends. Cool things to jump on the bandwagon for and then forget about.
And no I'm not saying that the fandom immediately dies. It just seems like the majority of the internet very quickly moves on to the next craze

I purposely didn't get into any of these fandoms (except BATIM) because the whole 'fad' thing bothered me so much. I'm sure they're all great fandoms! I just really hate what they stand for!!

I've even become a little more distant from a few of my DeviantArt friends (accidentally, of course), because they're the type of people to immediately get into a new fandom, obsess over it for a while, and then move on to another one

And yeah, I can be like that too. But I don't do it with popular things, or get into fandoms because 'hey everyone else is talking about it'

I go way out of my way to avoid trends. They just seen really toxic to me. I'm not entirely sure why I feel this way, but I don't care.
And sometimes, I don't even consciously avoid them. I just sorta shy away without really meaning to or trying.
