Chapter 19

Bexley's POV
I was walking around the park when I get a text

Harvey :)
Bex
I have been trying to put this off for so long but I can't do it anymore
I like you
You're smart, beautiful, kind
Okay, basically everything I could ever ask for

Bexley
Awww
I think I like you too

Harvey ;)
Meet me after school tomorrow outside the diner that's two blocks away from school pls

Bexley
Will do :)

This is the best thing that's happened in weeks. I love it how he's been texting me such nice things, it feels amazing. Tomorrow's the day. The day he'll finally ask me out

*the next day after school*

Im going to go look for Harvey right now. As I'm walking, I can't stop thinking of  all that could happen. Wow.

I keep walking and then as soon as I make a right, I see Harvey and Ava kissing. I don't know what to say. Why would he do that?

Harvey's POV
I go exactly where Ava told me to. I wait for her  for about 5 minutes and then she shows up.

"Harvey... I know we've only been talking for a few weeks but I honestly can't hide what I feel for you" she tells me

I can't seem to stop thinking about Bexley, but I know I need to forget about her

Then she leans forward and kisses me. I kiss her back. I don't know why I'm doing it. I'm desperate, and mad and upset till the point where I feel like kissing another girl, who I don't even like is the escape to the pain I'm going through right now.

Then I pull away and see Bex about 5 feet away from us and staring at me. I don't know exactly how to describe it. She looks angry but also disappointed and confused. I see her struggling to say something. The only thing I can say for sure, is that she's broken, and it may all be because of me

"I..." she says before running away with tears in her eyes

I'm just as confused as her. Why did she have that look on her face if she doesn't feel anything for me?

"Bexley, don't leave" I shout and try to go after her, but then Ava grabs my arm "Don't. Fighting for someone who doesn't like you isn't worth it"

I let go off her grip and just go after her

Bexley's POV
My mom is on a business trip and it doesn't really make a difference, she doesn't even ever talk to me about anything. It's like she doesn't even care about me anymore. As a matter fact, who does? Hana is happy with Max, Max is happy with Hana and Harvey is apparently happy with Ava now. I wish I had realized I had feelings for him before. Maybe I made him wait too long and he got tired of me, just like everyone else.

Everything is falling apart once again. When it finally seems to be going well, everything proves me otherwise.

I'm running away. At least for some time. Nobody will miss me. I'm not going to any of my friends  from school's house. I'm going to a place I haven't been to in a very long time. My old town.

It was a very small town with a very small population. Everyone knew me there. Specially the lady from the cafeteria. She must be around 70 now and she's known me since I was little. She's practically like a mother to me, or used to be. I haven't been there in a very long time and I honestly wonder if she still remembers me. The last time I saw her was about 7 years ago and many things have changed.

I quickly pack some things and grab some money, throw a black hoodie on and head out of the house. I run to the closest bus stop and wait there.

The bus arrives. I get on it and then take the seat in the back. Then, after around an hour, I see it. My old town. The place where I spent most of my childhood. I don't think my old friends remember me. We lost contact after I moved.

I get out of the bus and look around. It hasn't changed a lot. The same beautiful and empty streets. The book shop where my mom used to work at is still there. My old school, where I made my first friends, the park where I learned to ride a bike. Everything looks the same. I'm happy to be back. I missed this place. I miss my friends. I want to turn back time to those days.

Harvey's POV
I run as fast as I can and get to her house. The door is slightly open. I immediately go to her room and see clothes all over the place, and most of her drawers open. I am desperate to know what happened

"Bex? Bexley? Bexley!" I shout with no answer

I leave the house and run back home and find Max making out with Hana, but he stops as soon as he sees me there.

"Oh you're home early" he says

"What do you mean? I always come home at the same time" I say breathing really fast

"No, you don-" he says and i interrupt

"Guys, Bexley is missing" I say

"Wait? Missing? Like she isn't home and she ran away?" Hana asks

"Yeah!" I exclaim

"Oh no, don't worry, she must have just gone out" she says

"Guys, it's Bexley we're talking about. She doesn't just leave or go out at this time of the day"

"And you know that because...? Do you stalk her or something like that?" Hana says laughing

"Let's say I care about her" I say scratching my neck

"So you do stalk her?" She says smirking

"Call it what you want, the thing here is that I know she's not like this. Her room was a mess and let's just say it might be all because of me" I say ashamed and desperate

"Oh no, what did you do?" Max says

"Bexley and I started texting again a few weeks ago and then I told her how much I like her and she told me she didn't like me and then I got mad and I became friends with Ava and she asked me to meet outside the diner and then she kissed me but Bex was right behind me" I say very quickly. I sigh
