Right in front of me (max and harvey)

Chapter 45

Bexley's POV

"What's up?", he says.

"I'm sorry, are you really just trying to pretend nothing ever happened? Unbelievable. " I respond standing up and walking away.

He groans, "You wanted to talk things through. Let's talk things through. I'm sorry for having been a dick before, let me make it up to you"

"Okay, yeah, fine. Let's talk"

"You remember that one time I asked you to be my girlfriend? How I wrote you that letter?", I nod. "Well... I don't have a letter like I did that one time. And maybe that'll make it harder for me to put out there what you mean to me, but-"

" I just don't understand. Yes, circumstances might have been against us, I mean, my mom, Logan. But all I ever did was to try to save our relationship, and all you ever did was act like you didn't care about it at all..."

He frowns at me and says, "Alright, alright, maybe I have, but has it never occurred to you that maybe part of it is also your fault?"

"How?"

"Yeah, like... you're always telling me everything that I've done wrong as if it was all my fault. It's not just me. You're the reason we stopped talking. I tried to apologize and you went all 'oh, yeah, sure you care'. I don't get it why you don't believe me. I care. I know I've messed up many times but if I'm here because I want to fix it. I want us to fix it"

I frown at him. Maybe he's right. I haven't been that nice either after all... "First of all... you might be right, but I was trying to make things better". Why does every possible way to solve this seem so hard? How was it so easy for Max and Hana? I put my hands on my forehead, "Ugh, it's always been easy for her. I've always hated that" I tell him.

"For who?"

"Hana. I mean, her and Max spent quite a long time away from each other and made up in like 10 seconds. Why can't it be like that for us? I want this to work out as it did for them, but why is it so hard?"

"So you want us to make up?"

"I do, don't you?"

"Yes, Bexley. That's why I'm here, I'm ready to fix everything. I know I've been the dumbest person alive for all that I've done. I didn't even mean what I said back at my house... but I swear I do mean it when I say I'm sorry, and that you're really important to me."

"Am I?"

"Yes, you're great, you're more than great. Bex, ever since I saw you that one time when I first got to school, I fell in love, and how you simply gave me a death stare and said 'what?', when I was staring at you, that was so... wow. I remember having been left speechless after that. And honestly I hated it so much when I found out you were into Max...", he pauses and looks down at his feet, "actually... that might've been the reason why I acted like that with Logan. Yes, he's nice and all, but I was afraid he'd win you over, and I know I've already said this, but I'm sorry for having said that about you going to Logan, I guess it was just... that I somewhat felt kinda weird about you wanting someone like me-"

"Why wouldn't I want someone like you?"

"Because... I'm me. Honestly? Everyone always chooses Max over me. Even you did", he chuckles, half joking, half serious.

"Oh my God", I grab his hand and interwine his fingers with mine, "I did... at first... but then I realized I was missing out on the amazing boy standing right in front of me", I sigh and look him in the eyes, "listen, I'm sorry too. I was an idiot, I guess I sometimes did some things which might've hurt you, and that ruined everything for us, and I'll never forgive myself for that, because I've been missing you like crazy-"

"You have?"

"Yes! Harvey, you were my first boyfriend. Before you, honestly, I kept asking myself if I'd ever get to date anyone. And I got me a great boyfriend... I mean... ex... boyfriend", I don't know why, but calling him my ex boyfriend hurts more than ever before.

"Bex", he says tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. I know what he's about to do, and I want him to do it. 

Harvey's POV

I look into her eyes, while neither of us dares to say a word. I'm gonna do it.

Bexley's POV

And then, just like that, things start feeling easy again. He leans in and kisses me, I put a hand on his cheek and then we stop. "Bex... I love you". I look at him, and then without even hesitating a little bit, I tell him, "I love you too, Harvey"

"You know, we've been through so much. I... really think we shouldn't worry about what happens to us, or to this thing we have, this simply isn't easy for neither of us, but if we're together we'll find a way to solve it."

"Yes, Harvey. Just promise me you'll stay here, by my side."

"I promise."

And this is how our story ends... or at least this chapter in our story ends, because I know that we'll only keep getting stronger.

I really wanna thank you all so much because I just started writing this because I was bored but I never thought so many people would read it lol.  I'm not very good at finishing stories so this chapter was kinda hard for me to write.
