Michiyo called for me a couple of times since I was spacing out.
“Ah! Sorry, I remembered something,” I responded.
“Was it Kujou?” Hatori said. I gave him a slight nod in response.
“You know, I kind of saw you two that day on accident.”
Did he mean that day in the playground?
“She was crying right?” he said, a slight blush on his cheeks.
“It kind of hit me then. She didn’t really want to tell me anything.”
His words, they sounded quite sad from a distance.
“But she told you everything right? Thanks.
Like you were there for her instead, or something…
Che, I’m not good with mushy stuff like this.”
Shyly, I motioned my head, shifting from left to right.
As if saying, don’t worry about it.
“Anyway, it’s getting late. I’ll see you guys at school!”
Those were his last words during that summer.
But really, I was happy we got to talk.
This was probably the first time.
