I made my way to the playground shortly after four,
and there he was sitting on the base of the slide.
There were no more children playing,
it was just him and me.
The moment he noticed me,
he stood up and patted the dirt from his pants.
I thought really hard about what I wanted to say on my way here but,
all I could muster up was, “Hey!” in a fake excited voice.
“Hey,” he responded, still wearing that smile.
It was strange, but I couldn’t say anything else.
“So I noticed you were ignoring me,” he added.
“Wh-no, I wasn’t!”
“Still the bad liar, aren’t you Aiko?. Well it’s fine, I don’t mind it.
It’s not like we did any better back then, right?”
That’s right.
I mentioned this before but I’m deathly afraid of bugs.
After the dragonfly fiasco,
I didn’t talk to him for weeks.
A swarm of dragonflies?
Nope.
