After quite a while, we noticed Hatori-kun leave the house.
Fuuka-chan was walking behind him, a bit shyly I think.
Quickly, we went over and asked them about what they talked about.
“I… I just wanted to say I’m glad everyone’s here!” Fuuka-chan started.
“I’ve known everyone since first grade you know,
well except Hatori-kun.
But it was really such a fun time for me,”
Her eyes became a bit watery.
“Wait, Fuuka-chan! Why are you saying it like that?
It’s not like we won’t see you again --- right?
I mean we can come over to your house even if you’re at a different school!”
Michiyo interrupted.
It wasn’t as if she couldn’t read the atmosphere,
it was perfectly clear to her and to all of us.
I guess she just didn’t like these kinds of goodbyes.
“Sorry Michiyo-chan, but I can’t stay.
I…see, my mom is…” Fuuka was stuttering, it sounded like it hurt for her to speak.
“She’s moving to America. So she won’t be back for a while,”
