That was why he found my kindness attractive.
I didn’t realize it before, but Kurosawa told me about what he saw five years ago.
During a group activity in second grade,
he saw me talk to a new student who didn’t have a group to join in.
That even when she refused to join in because she was bitter about being left out,
I still grabbed her hand and managed to persuade her to join a group.
I don’t remember who it was,
but Kurosawa mentioned how happy that girl became because of that.
“The fact that you do these things subconsciously,
without thinking about what other people think of you,
it’s kind of amazing,” was how he put it.
I blushed a little, feeling a little flattered.
I never really thought about it that way,
more so on the fact that I don’t remember that occurring at all.
In just a couple more bites of cake,
we said our goodbyes.
I’d see him again tomorrow but,
I think it wouldn’t be the same anymore.
But I’m hoping this was for the better.
