I couldn’t keep silent anymore.
No secrets, just come clean Aiko.
“Just what are you trying to do?” I was getting frustrated,
water was building up in my eyes though I wasn’t really sure why.
Maybe it was the frustration or just me letting everything out.
“Aiko,” he said.
His grip loosened a bit and I took that chance to take back my arm.
It surprised him, but he didn’t grab me again because I didn’t run away.
And I wasn’t going to run away.
If he had anything to say I wanted to listen to every word.
“Gomen,” he said again.
“You already said that,” I complained, growing impatient.
“Aiko, that day… actually, I didn’t expect you’d confess.”
But I did. I was going to after he read that letter,
the one he couldn’t read and the reason I collapsed.
“I didn’t want you to say all that,
not so soon,” he looked at me with such sad eyes.
But what hurt me was I didn’t understand what that sadness was for.
