Boom.
One after the other,
flashes of light followed by loud explosions populated an otherwise dark sky.
The fireworks started before we could find a good place to watch it.
For a second I was mesmerized,
colors twinkled in the sky like floating iridescent waterfalls.
We stayed there like that until the last explosion faded.
For a couple of minutes, I was drawn into a world of color and magic.
But once it ended, I’ve already decided what I needed to do.
I pushed myself away from Hatori,
and started walking off without so much of a word.
“Oi!”
I walked faster and faster, hoping to the gods he doesn’t catch me.
--- but of course he did.
“I said hold on,” his hand was grabbing my arm,
preventing me from walking any further.
I didn’t look at him,
and although I tried to break free from his grip,
it didn’t seem like he was going to let go.
