It was 8.30 am in the morning and the four classmates were on their way to school.

"There is no homework due for today, right?" Nancy asked her three friends as they idly walked past the school gate.

"There aren't any" Daisy replied.

All of a sudden, Joo e stopped walking.

"Joo e?" Ahin called, looking back.

"Nancy? OMG! I forgot to remind you, you still haven't written down yesterday's homework. I mean, the day before yesterday's homework you were supposed to copy from me." Jooe said in a rushed way looking at Nancy.

"its okay, she can copy that in the break time," Ahin said as she started to walk.

"Guys, I didn't bring my homework notebook with me." Nancy remembered.

"There is still plenty of time left. You can go and get it." Ahin said,

"How much is "plenty of time"?" Joo e asked.

"Around 17 minutes until warning bell rings," Daisy said.

"Let's run," Jooe said.

"We will head to class first, okay?" Daisy called behind them.

Nancy and Jooe were heavily panting as the banged open their room door.

Nancy took her Geography homework copy from the table.

"Jooe wait. Lemme drink some water" Nancy took out her water bottle and chucked down all of it."

"Hey, that's too much," Joo e said.

They laughed and exited their room.

They were out of the dorm building when they heard Hyebin call them.

"Nancy ya, Joo e ya? wait."

They looked back to see Hyebin and Yeonwoo.

"Why are you two all red and out of breath?" Hyebin asked as she and Yeonwoo approached their juniors.

"Nancy here forgot her homework copy so we had to run all the way here from the school gate," Jooe explained.

Nobody will know Nancy was red partly because of seeing her Yeonwoo.

"You guys ran? Who was faster?" Hyebin asked enthusiastically.

"Here we go again." Yeonwoo facepalmed.

"Of course me," Jooe said pointing at herself.

"Lets race. I bet you are not as fast as me." Hyebin said.

"Hyebin unnie, don't underestimate me. I have grown stronger and faster than last year." Jooe said.

"We will see about that," Hyebin replied.

"Hyebin na?" Yeonwoo called.

"You don't have to join," Hyebin told Yeonwoo.

"Hyebin unnie, I am tired I can't race now," Nancy said.

"Boring Yeonwoo, boring Nancy!" Hyebin said pointing at Yeonwoo and Nancy one by one.

"Its just you and me," Hyebin said Looking at Jooe.

"Please count down from three for us Nancy," Jooe asked.

"Ok, are you ready? HANA, DUL, SES- go!" Nancy shouted and the two raced away.

"Go Hyebin na!" Yeonwoo cheered for Hyebin.

"Joo e goo beat Hyebin unnie!" Nancy cheered for Jooe.

Nancy and Yeonwoo laughed so hard at the running figures of the two that Yeonwoo almost sat down on the ground.

Nancy helped Yeonwoo up and they and they also started heading towards the school. Their laughter hadn't completely died down.

A second later, Nancy realised they were holding hands.

She didn't know how and when that happened.

She looked down at their laced fingers and heavily blushed.

They didn't talk but kept walking.

On their way, they were both greeted by many people. Nancy waved at everyone with her free hand as she greeted them back.

She was so comfortably happy at that moment.

They only separated as they reached the school.

"Bye Nancy," Yeonwoo said and walked away.

"Bye, Yeonwoo unnie", Nancy said with a face-splitting smile.

Oh my god I can't believe I am still alive

She ran all the way to her class.

"Nancy, what happened to you? Why do you look so happy?" Jooe asked as Nancy took her seat.

"Nothing. So, who won the race?" she asked changing the subject successfully.

"Hyebin unnie" Jooe replied said looking a bit sad.
