Chapter 16 (A Surprise)

It was an hour long last lecture and tad boring for all of them as it wasn't their favorite subject and on top of that the lecturer was talking as if explaining to himself. Time and again all four of them were looking towards each other to decide to bunk the class secretly but at the end all went in vain as Annika didn't give in. She was in no mood to bunk as it was not right according to her and made all of them sit along with her too till the end of the class.

After it got over, students didn't even wait for their teacher to tell them to move out. As soon as they heard the bell, all of them practically ran out.

Annika got a message from Advay to stay back for some time. She didn't understand what was the need to text when he was standing right infront of her. She looked up to him with baffled expressions. Shivaay signaled her to be quiet for some time.

"Annika, I am very tired. Come let's go to our room." Mallika requested her.

"Umm. Mallika I'll come in a while. I have some work in the library. You go." she tried to sound as normal as possible.

"Should I wait.?" Mallika asked her.

"No babe. You have headache. You go and rest." she told her.

With that after waving bye to everyone Mallika went.

"What happened guys. Any problem.?" Annika asked worriedly to both of them.

"No. No problem." Shivaay said. "Actually the thing is..its Mallika's birthday the day after tomorrow."

"Oh. Shit. I didn't even remember this." she thanked them for reminding her.

"Yeah. And we are sort of planning something for her." Advay added.

"Like some surprise party for her.?" Annika asked excitedly.

"Yeah. Tomorrow we'll take her out after college and then surprise her at 12 in the night. Though i highly doubt we'll be permitted inside the girls hostel or even outside at late night. So you have to do all that in the hostel alone. Then on the next day on her birthday, we'll again go out and party." Advay explained.

"So are you in?" Shivaay asked.

"Ofcourse and it sounds so much fun already." She replied.

"Okay then we'll inform you about the further plans. You go now. Otherwise she'll doubt." Shivaay told her.

When she reached her room, she expected Mallika to be asleep but indeed she was standing near her cupboard fidgeting with some clothes.

"Wait. You didn't sleep?" she asked anxiously.

"No. In fact I just got my brother's call. 'Manik' He is paying a visit to me tomorrow." She replied happily.

"Oh. Your elder brother right? But why.?" Annika asked nervously. She thought about their plan which she just discussed with the guys.

"Haww. You don't remember my birthday Annika. I told you when we came here." she replied with a sad pout.

"Yeah. Sorry. Oh. I was thinking something else. It slipped. Great then. Are you going for an outing with him?" she asked.

"Yeah. Unluckily he won't be there at my birthday. He have some work. So he is coming tomorrow to meet me and will go by flight in the night itself. That's why i was looking for some dress to wear.?" Mallika replied and began searching for a dress again.

"Oh. Ohkay. No problem. I'll help." she handed a beautiful dress to her from her pile of clothes and excused her and went to talk outside their room.
