{Narrator's POV}
Duos in Fortnite seemed like a breeze, right? Two people per team, 100 players on the island, it surely can't be that hard.
Not in this already fucked world.
Things.. Things were a LOT more different than the actual video game. It took more ability to shoot the gun, to build a 1x1, to do everything a simple PC, or Console player can do in real time.
Hell, everyone in that game seemed more thirsty for the cartoon blood that never shed on the game's screen once you killed someone.
That was only for THEM to experience.
After the days Drift and (y/n) found their step, the advice they once favored was gone. They didn't need anyone's help, they're more dependent on each other's call outs.
Though, sometimes the excessive feeling of wanting the cartoon blood on your hands seemed.. off. Even for these two.
"I gotta say. We've been getting so much better at this whole.. Battle Royale thing, huh?" Drift asked (y/n), she was cleaning the barrel of her pump shotgun.
Nodding in response, she threw the gun onto her back and leaned against the y'all tree sitting near Flush Factory.
Today was their day, the day they finally get the seemingly revenge on Oblivion for all the pain she's caused.
But in all reasoning. Why though? They're both just teens stuck in a cartoon world, the world where you can shed blood of someone and not feel the weight of guilt.
After all, they DO set themselves up to die.
"I'm exhausted, we haven't slept in three days, it's as if we're losing our minds to the blood we shed. We're being excessive with it." (y/n) said, Drift raised a brow and crossed his arms.
"I never thought about it that way."
"Yeah, it seems as if this new lifestyle has drawn us to believe we need to shed blood just to feel satisfied with our previous mistakes, doings, etc."
Drift rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled.
"I suppose you're right. We should get the rest we DESERVE, yeah?"
"That, I couldn't agree more on." (y/n) smiled and followed Drift.
The HQ was their home, but ever since they left to be dependent on one another, searching for a quick place to stay was always the more difficult.
The island was more full. How was that even so?
Even Ragnorak seemed annoyed. The god would question why HE was even there, it made no sense anymore as the island was more populated.
No minding that. Snobby Shores was the only place calm, quiet, and collected. It seemed perfect, right?
Wrong.
"We can't even go to Snobby.. The feeling of game ending Oblivion is the only thing on my mind if we even set foot over there." (y/n) said, Drift sighed and looked around.
"How about Paradise Palms? Zoey is there?"
(y/n) rubbed her chin and then shrugged. "I suppose we can."
The two made the long trek to Paradise Palms, surely Zoey would let them stay right?
- skip -
Walking to Zoey's place, Drift knocked loudly and stood back. Waiting for her to answer. Then, the familiar neon green pigtails, candy coated hat and pink hoodie came into view.
Answering the door, Zoey looked surprised, but happy to see Drift, AND (y/n).
"What a fucking surprise! Hi Drifty!" Zoey embraced Drift, he hugged back and the two broke it up. She looked at (y/n) and raised a brow.
"Who's this?" She asked in confusion, Drift chuckled and whispered into Zoey's ear.
"This is the girl I was talking about, remember?"
"OHHH! So, you're (y/n)? Nice to meet you! Come in y'all." She said, opening up the house more. The two thanked her and walked in, looking around.
"So, why're you both here? Something happen?" She asked, grabbing some water and placing it on the coffee table infront of them all.
(y/n) took a huge swing of the water and then sat back, watching Drift.
"We left the HQ, in hopes to figure out how to get home."
Zoey furrowed her brow, she crossed her arms and looked confused.
"Why would you leave those three behind? What is REALLY happening?"
(y/n) sighed and jumped in.
"We want to get home. We want revenge on Oblivion, she's the reason we're all stuck in this shithole."
Zoey turned pale, the two teens took notice and gave her worrying expressions.
"Are you.. Are you okay?"
She shook it off and smiled. "I'm great! Anyways." Zoey said in a hurt tone, trying to change the subject.
"How have things been so far away from Mr. Wick and everyone?"
Drift chuckled and rubbed his arm. "It's been pretty great. The amount of blood we've shed is beyond me. It's actually very energizing."
Zoey snickered. "You agree with him, (y/n)?"
(y/n) nodded, taking a final swig of her water.
"You both just crave the blood, huh? What changed? You both were so innocent and pure. Though, I'm mainly the same way." She asked, looking at the two with a wide grin.
"I don't understand it. The game never made me feel this way when I personally played it, I guess being in here and seeing it REALLY happen changed my mind." Drift answered honestly, looking at Zoey, then back toward (y/n).
The conversation went on for hours, they seemed to enjoy the thought of this seemingly endless cycle of death and blood at their finger tips.
It's as if they're serial killers in here, which made it so much more interesting.
The game made the trio seem insane, the fact of being stuck into a world that looked like a "tell-tale" game made it even more interesting.
How could a cartoon game make three teens beg for the blood to shower onto their hands, body, and face?
No, it certainly was NOT a fetish. More like a passion.
How sick.
"So, about Oblivion.." (y/n) started. Zoey stared at her and shrugged.
"What about her?"
"Do you know her?"
Silence. Zoey thought long and hard about the answer.
The metallic armored female seemed ready for her own evil doing, it was well known that she snapped, the insanity finally got to her mind.
"That's, Moo. Isn't it?" She asked, gaining a look of guilt from Drift.
"I would've said something earlier.."
Zoey stood up and watched the moon slowly rise, her hand gripped hard onto the cup.
"It's fine. I figured she would go insane sooner or later. That mask sent awful vibes to me. I hope she's okay."
Drift and (y/n) looked at each other and then back at Zoey.
"I'll see her pretty face one day. Now's isn't the time."
She stopped and stared at the two watching her. "Say.." Zoey started, licking her lips in the process.
"How's about we go do our OWN chaos? I need to feel the pain and suffering of others under my hand once again. This island is so fucking boring."
"Sounds like a plan to me." Drift agreed, (y/n) nodded and the three set out toward Dusty and Loot Lake.
Things were finally gonna seem interesting.
