{Narrator's POV}

(y/n) awoke to a strong headache, she looked around the room she was in and it instantly clicked.

She was with Zoey.

"Fuck.." she mumbled, grabbing her head. She has zero idea about the events that transpired last night. Why would she want to know anyway? The voices seemed to be etched into her clueless mind.

"You've been a bad girl, (y/n).. I think it's time to show you what you're really doing."

(y/n) shook the thought away, not wanting a replay of last nights events.

Though, she doesn't remember anything past that first threatening voice calling out to her. What even happened to her?

"Zoey..?" (y/n) called out weakly, looking around the room. The pale brown walls and wood floored appearance seemed modern, yet welcoming.

Light oak drawers, nightstand, and a huge window showing the desert town in front of her.

It certainly was a sight for sore eyes, but that didn't matter. She needed to see Drift and make sure he was okay.

Walking down the flight of stairs, (y/n) called out to Zoey and Drift. She looked around the main livikg quarters to find Zoey asleep on the couch.

"Poor thing.. I must've took her bed." (y/n) whispered to herself, she inched closer toward her and saw the female snoring lightly.

"I probably shouldn't wake her up.."

"But.. I need to know where Drift is."

(y/n) leaned down and lightly shook Zoey, hoping the girl would wake up and explain everything that happened over the last twelve hours.

"Zoey.. wake up." (y/n) said softly. The female sat up and rubbed her eyes, looking at Kenzie in confusion.

"(y/n)..? What time is it?" She asked sleepily, noticing the sun slowly peaking over the mountains. (y/n) shrugged and looked around.

Still no Drift.

"Where's Drift?" (y/n) asked. Zoey looked at her with wide eyes and jolted upright.

"RUNNING ERRANDS!"

"..."

"What errands? There's nothing to get here.."

"I.. Uhh.."

"Zoey.."

Zoey watched the female glare hard into her eyes, she seemed angry, but.. worried.

"Tell me." She demanded, clenching her fist tightly and still maintaining the menacing glare with her.

"He.. HE LEFT THE HOUSE REALLY EARLY!"

(y/n) looked at her in confusion. "Left..? Where to?" The tears seeming to form in her already red eyes, Zoey shrugged and sighed at the female.

"I don't know, (y/n). I'm so sorry."

Without any words, (y/n) ran past Zoey and out the door, there's no way in hell Drift left her alone like that. There's no way.

Or.. was it actually true?

"(Y/N)!!" Zoey yelled out to her. Ignoring the desperate calls, Kenzie ran for the hills. She WAS going to find him. There's absolutely no way.

"Come on Drift, please let this be a prank.."

- skip -

(y/n) searched and searched the area for him.

But to no avail.

With the thought of Drift gone, (y/n) dropped to her knees and cupped her mouth. The soundless sobs made it clear.

Oh how alone she was.

"W-Why.. Why Drift..?"

"Please let this be a nightmare."

She grasped her knees and tucked into a curled ball, the endless sobs making short, cracked sounds. She stayed in the same spot for what felt like forever. The thought of him being gone broke her.

"I'm so alone.."

Then, a rustling could be heard in the bushes nearest the hotel. But she paid no attention to it. What was the point of it anyway? To feel the overriding sense of guilt and sadness?

This could have been avoided is (y/n) didn't have her fit from the lack of sleep.

But, then again.

Why would it be her fault?

(y/n) looked up at the figures standing over her, they seemed blurry. But she didn't care, the feeling of being game ended was more sweet than bitter.

"Grab her, and take her to the mountain. I'll be back soon.."

(y/n) seemed to recognize that voice, but where did it come from? The long period of feeling cold, alone, vulnerable, and hurt made her grow more weary and faded.

Then, she blacked out.

"I think it's time you understood the truth."
