Cory Matthews and Shawn Hunter remember the day they met their sassy yet fierst blonde friend as if it was just yesterday.

It was the middle of the first semester in fourth grade. To them, their teacher, George Feeny, was teachung them about Prehistoric Art. Shawn was alseep and snoring quietly on his desk as Cory had his head in his palms.

Elizabeth Cooper had just rolled into the new hallway on her skateboard as the Walkman in her jacket pocket blasted Weezer's Buddy Holly through her orange headphones. Her eyes scanned over the classroom numbers as she glided by on her board. Looking for Feeny's class.

She halted to a stop once she saw the number she was looking her. She got off her board, stepping on the tip of it, making it lift in the air. She picked the board up, tucking it under her left arm, stopping the music on the Walkman before swinging open the classroom door.

The class went silent as Elizabeth walked up to the front. Cory and Shawn sat up in interest at the swishing blonde hair moving past them. She handed Feeny her note she had gotten from the principal. George clicked his tongue as he read the note. "Ah, you're the new student. Elizabeth Cooper."

"It's Betty," she corrected.

"Pardon?" Mr. Feeny asked, mishearing her.

"Nobody calls me Elizabeth. It's Betty," she stated.

"Of course. Well, welcome, Ms. Cooper. Take a seat anywhere."

Cory and Shawn's eyes follow the girl as she stalked to the back of the classroom and took an empty seat. She placed down her skateboard and crossed her arms listening to her new teacher.

"Who's that?" Cory asked.

"That's new girl, Betty. Gee. Do you ever pay attention, Cor?" Shawn replied, scoffing.

Still staring, Cory squints. "She seems weird."

"Dude, Topanga is weird. She seems...cool."

Feeling a pair of eyes on her, Betty turned her head towards the two boys. They both quickly looked away.

Betty rolled her eyes. Creeps she thought.

Lunch finally came and Betty had no idea what to do, being the new kid and all was tough.

Betty had bought her lunch and entered the cafeteria, her eyes scanned over the tables noticing everyone was in their own little group.

Cory and Shawn were talking about their favorite baseball team, the Phillies.

"Can you believe that first triple-play, Shawn?" Cory asked. "That has to be the first ever!"

Shawn noddded. "Though Tony Gwyn lined to second baseman Randy Ready. He could have tagged the runner, threw to first baseman Ricky Jordan."

Cory looked behind him and saw the blonde from his class. "Shawn, look who it is."

Shawn turned around and saw her. "Betty."

"She looks kinda lonely."

"She's a new kid what do you expect?" Shawn noticed that Betty was ready to turn around to leave. "Maybe we should invite her over."

"What? She's a girl."

"So what? She's different. She's not wearing any dresses and she has a skateboard so she's gotta be pretty cool."

Cory sighed, giving in. "I guess so."

They both got up, leaving their trays. They stopped as Betty dumped her food in the trash and wrote down a piece of paper she got out as she used the wall to scribble down something before crumbling it in the trash then proceeding to walk away, her ponytail swishing as she did.

Shawn and Cory share a look before running to the trash and digging out for the crumbled paper. Cory looked at other students who was staring. He waved awkwardly at them.

"Shawn, hurry up," Cory hissed.

"I'm trying," Shawn replied as he suddenly raises his hand in victory as he pulled the paper out. "We've been compromised."

Cory leaned over his shoulder as they read the scribbled hand writing.

"Stop spying on me creeps!"

"Observing is different from creeping," Cory stated.

"Try telling her that," Shawn said.

They rush in her direction. Just in time, they caught up to her just as she put down her skateboard as if about to ride down the halls which was exactly what she planned to do.

"Uh, Betty," Cory spoke up. The girl looked to the boys she remembered in Feeny's class and just now in the lunch room. "Hey," Cory greeted. "Uh, my name is Cory Matthews." He motioned to Shawn who nodded towards Betty. "And this is my best friend, Shawn Hunter. We're in Mr. Feeny's class-"

"Yeah, I know," Betty said to them, picking her board up. "The stalkers."

Cory and Shawn laughed nervously.

"Stalking? That is hilarious," Cory chuckled.

"I wouldn't call it stalking. More like..."

"Watching out for you."

"Yeah, that."

"Watching out for me?" Betty chuckled sarcastically.

"Yeah, you're new and all. And you seem like you haven't found your way around yet."

Betty shifted on her feet, interested in what these goofballs had to say.

"So we were wondering. If you're interested in sports, the Phillies game is on tonight," Shawn told her.

"We're gonna watch it at my house. We figured you want in," Cory said.

"You figured?" Betty asked to which they both nod. "That's quite presumptuous of you."

Confused, they nod again. "Yeah. So are you in?" Shawn asked.

Betty put a hand on her hip. "If I come over, how will I find out where you live?"

"Oh." Cory pulled out the note that Shawn fished out of the trashcan and messily wrote on the back. Betty chuckled at this. Cory handed her the piece of paper. "There you go."

"So you in or what?" Shawn asked.

"Maybe," Betty told him before putting down her skateboard and skating down the hall.

"Wow," Shawn said. "She's...something."

"She spells trouble," Cory said.

Later, that night, Betty went over to Cory's house, bringing her twin Zack with her since they both like sports. That night, Betty had bonded with Cory and Shawn and it was a trio made forever.
