On The Fence

"Say you could pick any superhero to be your dad. Who would you choose?" Cory asked us. 

Ellis stated. "Batman, no question.Live in a cool cave, borrow the Batmobile. 

"He lets Robin hang out with him and play with all his stuff.And Robin's not even his real kid. He's his ward," Shawn added. 

"How do you get to be a ward?" 

"Batman?" me and Cory question at the same time before he added, "Is he faster than a speeding bullet? I don't think so. Is he more powerful than a locomotive? Uh-uh. I'd want Superman."

"Yeah!" I cheer with Cory before giving a high five.

Shawn shook his head at us. "Sees through walls. You guys would never get away with anything."

"Because I'd make somebody a very cool ward."

"I'd like to have Superman for a dad," Cory said before I lie my head on the table.

"I'd be glad to have a dad at all," I mutter.

Shawn looked like caught on, but brushed it off. "Hey, there's Minkus."

We saw him sitting at a table near us. Shawn got out his own water gun before spraying Minkus in the back of the head.

"Ow," was all Minkus said, not looking up.

"Whoa!" Cory gasped. "The 2000-X Hydro-Saturator."

"Careful. If Feeny sees this baby on school grounds, he'll shag it and I'll have to sit out the water wars."

Ellis pulled out his gun. "Gentlemen and woman, meet the Hydro-Sat 3000-Z. Blow your head clean off."

"The 3000? That's not even supposed to come out till Christmas," Cory said.

"I know a guy."

"Don't know if you're guys' guns are better than mine," I tell them before pulling out. "Boys, meet my Super Soaker SS 300. Fully locked and loaded."

"Not you too, Betty," Cory sighed.

"Hey, my mom took me and Zack to go buy guns for the water wars. I chose this baby."

Ellis sprayed Minkus again while I kept my Super Soaker raised. "You really shouldn't do that," Minkus told him, standing up.

"What, are you going to melt?" Shawn chuckled. 

"No," he answered before pulling a large case out along with his own water gun  aiming it at Ellis while I kept mine raised at him. "I'm going to retaliate. Go ahead make me wet." Slowly, we lowered our guns. "Wise choice."

"Drop the soaker, sis," Zack came from another table, aiming his own gun at me. "Or else..."

My eyes narrow at him as I raise my eyebrows at him and aim my soaker at him. "Elizabeth Cooper, do you accept your brother's challenge?" Shawn asked, looking in between us.

I glare at him for using my full name, but turn back to my twin. "I accept your challenge, Zackery." I lower my gun again. "But not today, Chachi."

Cory stood up, going to the water fountain. "Ah, who needs one of those? For your information, a well-placed water balloon can give you just as much splash for your cash. Like everyone's gonna have a humongous water gun."

Just as he turned around, everyone was holding water guns at him. "Hi, Cor," I greet.

"How are you?" he tried.

We all sprayed him as he tried to cover himself from the blast of water.

 "Stop! I'll get one! I promise! Oh, my G- I'll get one! Stop! I promise!"
