I enter the Matthews's home from the back kitchen door. "Hi, Mrs. Matthews," I greet.

"Hi, Betty," she greeted back. "Are you waiting for Cory?" she asked.

"Yes," I answer, grabbing a banana. "May I?" I ask.

"Go ahead," she told me.

I sat down at the table and began to peel the banana, watching Eric talk with his dad, "...Father, for you to even suggest that I would blow off the camping show to go party hearty in Boston, that speaks volumes about our relationship."

I only hummed at, knowing Eric probably would.

Cory approached his brother. "Eric, you forgot your book."

"What book?" Eric asked.

Cory showed him the book. "'How To Act Innocent When Your Father Catches You'."

Eric tried to look innocent but Mr. Matthews only said, "Eric."

"Guess I better read it again," Eric replied, grabbing the book from Cory and grabbing his bag.

I look at Eric. "I still can't believe you won't take me with you."

"Betty, Blondie, we've been over this. I can't take you with me 'cause you're not my girlfriend," he replied.

"Yet," I tell him.

"Sure, check back in two years and we'll go somewhere together, okay?"

"Okay," I reply.

His mom handed him food for the road. "Bye, Mom," he told her, kissing her cheek. "Later, blondie," he said to me, kissing the top of my head, making me smile.

As Eric left, Mr. Feeny hurried in. "Amy, Cory, Elizabeth, hi." He closed the door. "Is there a lock on this thing?"

My ex-boyfriend stepped in before he could lock it. "Mr. Feeny."

"Too late," Mr. Feeny said.

"I tried. I tried. I tried. I tried. I tried. I don't get the assignment. I want to drop economics. Business, figures, numbers...I just can't keep it in my head. Whoo-hoo," Shawn said, making a motion of the info leaving his brain.

"Shawn, it's simple," Mr. Feeny replied. "Come up with a business, pretend you're running it and write a report."

"Oh! Now I-" he did the motion again. "Whoo-hoo. You see? Now, come on, let me drop the course. No Hunter has ever made it in business. Why cause me agony? Why?"

Mr. Feeny smiled, "I like it." He pointed to the table. "Shawn, sit down. It's quiet time." Shawn sat in the seat beside me as Mr. Feeny turned to Mrs. Matthews. "Amy, these are my house keys. I really appreciate you looking after things while I'm away this weekend."
