"...And then Shawn and I 'borrowed' the motorcycle his uncle Mike was fixing and rode off for miles until we arrived at a rave where we did nothing, but dance until the cops came," I finish my story.

"Wow, it sounds like you and Shawn had an amazing time," Topy told me.

I look at her confused. "'Amazing time'? No lecture for doing something reckless?"

"At least, you're having fun as a couple," Topy leaned back against the lockers.

"Oh, T," I close my locker, leaning against the lockers. "Something's wrong, isn't it?"

"No. I mean..." She paused. "Maybe. It's just that, you and Shawn always have some kind of new crazy adventure every weekend and are always so in love."

I caught on. "Oh man. You doubled with Cory's parents again, didn't you?"

"Only on Friday and Saturday," she answered.

"Topy, I don't even double date with my mom's dates."

"But Sunday, it was just me and Cory at the mall. I bought a new dress and bought Cory new slacks."

"Oh, Topanga. Beautiful, intelligent, crazy, Topanga." Topy rolled her eyes with a smile. "As your best friend, it is my sworn duty to have a cure for your marriage problems."

"They are not marriage problems," Topy defended, crossing her arms.

"Anyways to cure your marriage problems, you need excitement, you need what me and Shawn have for a night, you need..."

"Exhilaration?" she suggested.

"Exactly. Here's the deal. I got a special invite tonight to a dance at Hamilton High. Why don't you come with me? Wear your new dress."

"Really, a party at another school?" Topy questioned. "This could be just what I need. Hold on, I have plans with Cory tonight."

I shrug. "So? Set them for another day. Tell her you need a girls night out with yours truly." She nodded. "Look there he is now." I saw him talking with Shawn. "Just go up and tell him you need a night out."

"Got it," she responded, walking up to Cory with me following. "Hi, Cory."

Cory looked at her then, Shawn. "I can't go."

"Cory, about tonight Can we reschedule?" she asked. "Betty wants to hang out and if it's all right with you -"

"Oh, don't speak. Don't speak. If you need to get together with the girl of your gender, I completely understand."

"Cory, have you been reading Couples magazine?" Topy asked.

Cory smiled. "I took the quiz in the back. 95."
