The Heart is a Lonely Cooper

(A/N: this episode is going to be around Zack and Archie since they haven't been getting enough attention like I orginally planned. This episode does follow the same plotline as the orignal, but I tried to make my character's lines their own. And this chapter is longer than I expected. Let me know what you think of them having more screen time.)

At Chubby's, Zack pulled back from the kiss, his hands cradling hers. "See, Dana, that's why you're such a great kisser," he told her.

"How do you mean?" Dana asked.

"Well, you know, a lot of girls trap both lips in this vacuumy-suction thing and, you know, then your mouth caves in, you've gotta break the seal before your lungs pop," Zack explained. "You don't do that though."

Dana hid her frown. "It sounds like you know an awful lot about kissing."

"Well, I've done some random sampling. Purely for scientific reasons," Zack responded.

"Kissing research?" she questioned.

"I don't mind if I do," Zack smirked, leaning over the table, pecking her lips. "I really like you, Dana Pruitt."

"I like you too, Zack Cooper," she replied.

"Good, I'm glad," Zack stated. "So when's our second date?"

"I'm doing volunteer work for the blood drive this week. We could work the sign-up booth together," Dana suggested.

Zack chuckled. "Not really my thing. My sister is into that whole volunteer stuff, and being surrounded by blood and I hit the floor instantly."

"Well, maybe sometime we could go on a picnic."

"Eat outside? Why?" Zack asked.

"Just two people sitting on a blanket, really listening to what the other has to say," Dana explained.

"I love picnics," Zack tried.

"Do you?"

"No. Sorry. How about we get back to what we do best?" Zack asked.
