At school-

I helped Shawn who was limping from what happened last night at Chubby's. "What happened to you?" Cory asked Shawn.

"It's the weirdest thing. Last night we're sitting at Chubby's, right? I'm looking deep into Betty's emerald eyes. I lean forward, about to make my move, when some yahoo hits me in the butt with a dart."

I giggled. "It was awful seeing Shawn in pain, but also kind of funny."

"You you-You guys didn't see who it was?" Cory asked.

"No," we answer.

"Lot of sick people out there, man."

"So, how was your night with the lovely Topanga?" I ask.

"It was good. Good. 80 percent good."

"And the other 20 percent?" Shawn asked.

I hit his arm. "Shawn."

"Well, I-I may have kinda gotten caught up in the moment and said some things that maybe I shouldn't have said," Cory told him.

"Uh-oh. Matthews, did you get emotional with Topanga?" Zack asked, from his locker, approaching.

"It was hard not to. I mean, she looked so beautiful," Cory answered.

"You didn't tell her that, did you?" Zack questioned.

"N- no! Say she's beautiful?" Cory scoffed. "Yeah. Like I'd say that, Zack. I said, 'I love you'."

Immediately, Zack started gasping as if he was dying. "Sh-Shawn," he breathed, falling back towards him who Shawn caught.

"What? What, what, what?" Cory asked, urgently.

"Breath out, Zack," I tell him.

He did, stood up straight and looked to Cory. "You idiot! Once word gets around what you told Topanga, every girl's gonna wanna hear it."

"What? 'I love you'?" Cory asked.

Zack shushed him. "You're like a stinking canary!"

"Come on. I mean, I don't believe telling Topanga I love her is gonna affect anybody but me and her."

"Oh yeah?" Zack asked, spotting Eric and his girlfriend before pushing me and Shawn closer. "Guys, do your thing."
