I was going to go see Rainy in the hospital, but I was so tired I decided against it. I walked wearily back to my cabin and plopped down on the bed.
I longed for my phone, or my dog. I missed Winston, he was my best friend. I had walked him every day, fed him left-overs from time to time, played ball outside everyday in the summer, and tug-of-war inside in the winter. He would sleep in my bed with me every night. His favorite toy was always in my bed, and he'd wake me up in the middle of the night to play.
Even as a new-born puppy he was never bad, or was mean to me, or anything. I missed him. I missed him, and my brother, and even my mom.
I thought of my 16th birthday next week that would go uncelebrated, unnoticed even. I would be 16. I longed to be home. I soon fell asleep at only 8:30, and I dreamt of home. Of a birthday party. Of my family. Of anything away from here.

I woke up with a start.
There had been a big monster in my nightmare, stomping around, about to kill me right before I woke up. I realized a minute later that the stomping in my dream had been someone knocking on my door.
"Rose? Open up!" A voice yelled. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" I yelled back, throwing my blanket on the floor. I walked out of my bedroom and over to the door. I opened it to see Rainy, looking extremely well.
"Rainy? I thought you were in the hospital 'till tomorrow." The girl beamed. "The healing potion worked even better than they thought to would, and I healed extra fast. I'm all better now!"
I smiled too. Rainy looked me over and gave me an amused look. "Nice pink underwear." She said, laughing. I then realized I had forgot to put pants on before I got up, I had been sleeping in underwear and a big t-shirt. I blushed. "Thanks." I mumbled.
I walked back into the bedroom and pulled my training shorts back on. "Come on in, Rainy." I yelled from the bedroom as I changed. When I walked back out I saw she was sitting in one of the chairs in the front room.
"So, have you already eaten breakfast?" I asked her. She shook her head. "Do you have food here?" She asked me. "Um..." I walked over to the old fridge and opened it. To my surprise, there was food in it.
"Yes." I said, amazed. "What do you want? I can make scrambled eggs." I said. Rainy laughed and agreed to eat eggs. I got a pan from the cabinet and made up some eggs and toast with the bread I found. I had no idea how the food or pans or anything got here, but I decided to eat here more often.
I gave Rainy her sandwich and we ate in silence. After she finished she asked me, "How was training yesterday?" I shrugged. "I really liked magic training. Battle is okay, but it's very, how should I put it?" "Physically demanding?" Rainy suggested.
I laughed and nodded. "Oh, and I hate Magician History. I thought I was done with school now, but apparently not." Rainy laughed. "Yeah. Well, the good news is, you only have to deal with the lectures for a year, then you aren't forced to take them, but you can choose to take advanced classes if you want."
"Well, guess who isn't taking more classes?" I laughed. Rainy got up and threw her plate away. "I have the day off." She remarked. "Lucky you?" I said, not sure what to say. "Well, technically I could train, but I asked for the day off and they let me because I was injured I think."
"Ooooookaaay." I said, stretching out the word. "I have to go to battle training now, you're welcome to stay in my cabin. Meet me for lunch though." Rainy nodded and said she was going to go back to her cabin.
I left for training.

The whole day went by in a blur. I was a battle training for 2 hours, then met Rainy at lunch (Jackson didn't show up), then to magic training for a few hours, then to dinner.
At dinner they announced that tomorrow the camp fire would be cancelled due to then setting up a course for a competition in 2 weeks.
After dinner I went right to bed again, and had no nightmares, just peaceful dreams.
