The sun was rising. Jackson had brought me here to see the sun rise.

It was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen.

The horizon was neon red, and just above that was a ring of bright orange. Then there was the sun. It was yellow and white, and very bright.

"Close your mouth or you'll catch bugs." Jackson said, lifting my chin up gently with his hand. I laughed and watched the sun rise slowly.

Once it got to bright to look at, I focused on Jackson. He eventually turned to look at me too. I noticed his fine jaw line. His hair. He got his hair cut. How did I not notice before?

Then, before I knew it, Jackson pulled me into him, and we kissed. Really kissed. It was the most amazing feeling I'd ever had.

My heart felt like it was trying to break out of my chest, but I didn't care. Jackson put his right hand on the back of my neck, and his left arm wrapped around me. I wrapped my arms around his back.

We seemed to fit together perfectly. Like two puzzle pieces that finished the whole pictures.

We stood like that for a while, kissing as the sun rose. After a minute we fell to the grass, and I ended up on top of him. I laughed and kissed him again. He laughed too.

A minute later I rolled over and laid next to him in the grass. It was silent for a minute, then Jackson started laughing.

"What?" I asked. "Well, it's just that, I've never dated a girl like you. I mean, you're famous. You're nice. You're smart. I just can't believe it." I blushed.

"Well, I've never- never had a boyfriend at all..." I mumbled. "What? Never?" "Thanks for making me feel good for about two minutes. It's an all time record, really." Jackson shook his head.

"No, no, no! That's not what I meant! I meant, you're so amazing, I don't know why there isn't a line of guys waiting to date you." "Well, I'm not exactly what most teenage boys are looking for, um, look wise." I blushed.

Jackson was silent for a minute, then said, "I think you're beautiful." "I'm not sure that's what I meant. But, uh, thank you. Thank you."

Jackson was silent again for another minute, then said, "Oh. Ohhhhh. Oh, okay." I laughed. "Yeah." Then, we just laid there. Literally. I just smiled at the sky, not believing I had this amazing boy laying next to me.

About an hour later, Jackson sat up. "Are we um, are we, like, together?" Jackson asked, blushing. Red was not a good color for him. "Do you want to be?"

Jackson smirked. "Are you asking me out on a date, Rose Marie?" I laughed. "How do you now my middle name, Jackson, um... Random name?" Now it was Jackson's turn to laugh.

"Jackson Christofer Black." I nodded. "I like that." Jackson smiled. "You're the first person to say that in a long time."

"Hey, I'm kinda hungry, would you be willing to leave this romantic hill and go and get breakfast?" "Absolutely." "Teenage boy!"

Jackson laughed and took my hand. He helped me up and we headed down the hill.

The rest of the day was a blur.

I stayed with Jackson the whole day, and we just talked, mostly. There was some kissing, but not a lot. Got it?

I talked about how much I wished I could go home for my birthday, and about my family, and my school, and a bunch of other stuff Jackson probably didn't care about but listened to anyway.

Then, at 8:00, Jackson walked me back to my cabin, and I seriously debated asking him to stay, but I thought that would be way out of the question anyway.

So, I said goodbye wearily, but before he left, he said, "You never answered my question earlier." "Which one?" Jackson laughed. "I think you know which one."

I blushed. "The one where you asked if we were officially dating? I asked you if you wanted to be!"

"Are we really going to play this game? I- I think we should." Said Jackson, looking at his sneakers. "Me too..." I mumbled.
