Jake put on a smirk, to show he had a venomous dare. "Okay-" Rich interrupted "I'm scared" Jake chuckled at Rich "It's not that bad- Wait- Yes it is" Jake made an evil laugh just to scare more. "Now, I dare you-

"-you to show me your last page you had written in of your diary!" Jake exclaimed with a smirk. Rich on the other hand turned redder then a lightbulb. "fiNE" He huffed. Jake was interested for two reasons Rich was very embarrassed and he could see where Rich puts his diary. Rich got up and walked up to his room, with a smiling Jake behind him. The shorter male went down under his dresser, there was a hole where Rich grabbed pulling out a slightly worn book with fake golden edges. Jake was watching closely.

Rich turned to the third to last page of the book, the two last pages being empty. Jake smiled a satisfied smile as he grabbed the book with messy handwriting. He started to read the page carefully, taking in every detail.

Jake quickly stopped his reading to look up at Rich. He was sweating and fiddling with his fingers. Something he would never do normally. Jake started processing like a machine. He likes me. That could be platonic. No, he said love. That.. Can't. He's not gay though. He's dated girls. I'm dating someone. I... can't.. I like.. Jake laughed nervously. "Um.. I really love that you feel this way it's.. So flattering" Rich didn't want to question if Jake liked him back, knowing(thinking) that would never happen. "U-Um.." Rich looked down gently "Well.. Do you?.. Feel.. What I feel?" Jake paused, he dreaded each word that came from Rich's mouth.

"I'm.. I.. have a girlfriend Rich..." Jake said softly. "I'm sorry..." Rich hiccuped "O- Oh yeah- Well.. Just forget this happened ya?"

-Years Later-

Both of them never forgot since that day. Though they never gotten over it. Jake was now in a high paying job at a office selling books and paper, living life as normal. Knowing he missed a great chance. Rich, he worked at a small café. Though, this took more of a told on Rich then Jake. Rich hadn't liked anyone since in a romantic way. Somehow the two men were still friends.

More years passed of denial. Neither telling the other how they feel. Jake had passed away a week ago from a lung inflation that his doctor didn't check.. That idiot. Rich had thought till this day.

The funeral had small numbers of people. Some from highschool, some Rich couldn't even recognize. Rich walked over to the casket, holding his dear friend, after the people had left and quiet had struck the room. No more cries or children whining to go home. Rich smiled sadly at the pale, ghostly pale body that played before him. "Hey Jake.. I hope you can hear me there.. Wherever you are.. But, I should have given you this a long time ago.." Rich felt a bit insane talking to a dead body. Though, he placed the idem that he was holding the whole service. He read the title it read in a gold font before closing the lid of the casket.
