Jake worked for a Taxi company, it was quick money before he moved to where he wanted. He was cutting down on foods he ate, so he was on a diet of salad and other foods he could eat quickly and was cheap. The boy also didn't look particularly unhealthy either. So, he assumed he was getting good nutrition. Like anyone would at his stupid age.
Jake would always pick up one short boy each day. It made his day seeing that boy's smile. The boy's name was Rich, as far as Jake knew, Rich was kind and cute. Which he loved about Rich. He parked in the normal spot to pick up Rich. All Jake knew today, that Rich was late. Late? Rich was never late.. Jake found himself worrying. He tried to relax against the back his seat. He found himself biting his nails, it was a very old habit he had.
The boy was only there for a few moments, but he was already worried as hell. Jake watched the road that Rich would walk down from. It would never take this long. What was happening? He was just getting more worried before he saw Rich running down the road, fully knowing he was late. Rich got into the car quickly. He had a bag of food. Jake sighed in relief.
Rich looked determined to do something. "Jake, I know you told me you haven't been eating well or what you call whatever. But, I got you a steak with pesto noodles on the side." He stated as he handed the other boy the food. "And! You can't say no because I paid for it already and it would be very rude if you said no." He smiled with victory. Jake looked at the ginger. "Um.. I guess, I'll take it, but I can't eat it right no--" Rich stopped him and put a finger to Jake's lips. He looked at him with a bored expression. "You told me yesterday that you get me before your shift starts, so you can eat it"
Rich was prepared for everything. Jake swears that little man scares him sometimes. But.. This was sweet. "Thank you," He said softly as he opened the to-go box. Jake was handed a plastic fork by Rich, he soon started to eat the food. Jake hadn't had a full meal in a while. So, this was very good. Jake kept eating as a happy Rich was smiling. The short boy felt very proud of himself, this guy was considered a friend to him and he couldn't see his friend look ill. Jake was gradually getting paler and paler.
Rich soon sat back into his seat, "You really need to eat more, and don't try to give me any excuses again" He said, practically shutting Jake up. Jake sighed as he set down the food. "Rich,..I'm sorry, I just can't." Rich groaned and rolled his eyes a bit. "Can you take me to the park now?" He muttered softly.
Jake sighed, "Fine, I'll listen to you," He muttered a bit. Rich smiled happily as he sat up a but as he giggled. "You could pick me up near lunch time and then we can eat lunch together, so I can make sure you hold up with your promise." Jake smiled a bit at the thought of spending a but more time with Rich. He hummed, thinking about it, he should get on a normal diet anyway, he's just been procrastinating. "Sure, that sounds good" He smiled gently at Rich before he started to turn on the car.
Rich smiled and closed his eyes. This ride usually takes a while so he could rest a bit. He gets picked up from work then dropped off at the park to feed the ducks there, the ducks and him have a bond, that's what Jake says sometimes before he leaves to pick someone else up. He soon glanced at Jake, who was focused on the road, Jake was a man of work. Rich would normally think of this a lot, but, if Jake was a man of work how well would Jake be in a relationship? Rich never hears him taking about relationships, even when Rich told him about an old boyfriend he had.
The thing about Jake was that he was that he really did like his work, and past relationships told him that he would need to stop working, and work was the only thing that really keep him sane with all of these other things changing around him, even his friends didn't want to bother him when he says, 'I can't, work.'
Jake really was an odd ball. Rich though, he loved talking to friends and family, he absolutely hates working. He likes to talk to people, not work. Rich hummed, "Hey, have you ever thought about maybe a girlfriend or something? You are always working you know, give yourself a well needed break" Jake looked at the other boy, he was a bit shocked at first. "Oh.. I'm gay, but, still, relationships really aren't on my.. List right now, but yeah.. Maybe" Jake said. The other boy got a bit more excited.. He didn't even know why he was excited. "Oh, maybe I could hook you up with one of my friends"
Jake looked back to the road gently, his eyes blinking a bit. "Ah, nah, I think I'm already liking someone," He said softly before he started to get a bit shy. Rich nodded with understanding, "That's great, how well do you know him?" Jake glanced to Rich, how innocent is this boy? "We talk almost everyday," Jake answered with a careful voice.
Rich smiled happily, "That's great! You should try to tell him. Wait, how long have you known him?" Jake sighed, "I've known him for 3 years," It should be obvious by now that he was talking about Rich.
Rich blinked a bit as he looked at Jake. Something wasn't right here... He was confused because he started to remember. "That's the amount of time that.." Rich froze a bit with realization. How was he that stupid, seriously though. He soon smiled a small bit as he looked at Jake, "Well, you should ask him out. Right now, because I think he would be very willing, Jake." Jake smiled as he turned a bit red. He kept driving. "Sure,"
