Fathers and a Goat

        It was an early morning again when the house became filled with chatter. Everyone was actually up for once having a meal where only slight bickering occured. Éclair was even awake and now fully into discussing the stone and her alchemy. A feeling of peace was surrounding the room but not their particular conversation. Little did they all know an intrusion would come about that same morning.

Eclair huffed, leaning back away from her breakfast plate as she thought to herself. "So...Kiomi, when did you learn alchemy and how did you never know about your stone?" she questioned thinking about how little she still didn't understand. Kiomi nodded after sitting up.

"I had a teacher when I was younger, he was probably one of the best alchemists I've ever come across." She paused before answering again, "And just like you I hardly found out about my stone from you not even a day or so ago. The only clue was that I didn't need transmutation circles as well as the fact my transmutations are really strong for no reason in particular."

Alphonse shook his head, "Don't be so hard on her, El, you didn't even know about your own stone until the further took it out of you!"

"Yeah but I knew something was weird...I used it a few times not really sure what it was, I just assumed it was the truth or something."

"Alphonse it's okay she's only curious." Kiomi said putting her hand up. "I wish I knew more about it I've always found it weird, and uncommon. My teacher once mentioned it to me and about how he knew someone who had one though he never spoke about it again even to this day when I visit him on and off. He might just know more than any of us."

Éclair stood up rapidly, knocking into the table and almost accidently dumping Ed's bowl of oatmeal off the table, "then we must go find him! If he knows of another person who's like this--or like me--or if he met any of the homunculi then we have to go meet him before they get to him like the way they got to my mother."

Ayumi sighed, "Kiomi, wise words of advice...if you ever see El's mother...just run. Run while you can."

"That lady tried to stab me with a fork when we ran into her three weeks ago..." Ed grumbled, "Wouldn't let me finish my dinner!"

"She didn't let any of us finish our dinner, remember we were chased out of the place after she raided the kitchen and started throwing frying pans at me telling me to go burn in hell or whatever it was this time. I honestly don't know what's her problem after all these years she's the one who abandoned me and my 'father'."

Trevor exhaled rather loudly, "El's mother is crazy. If you see her you'll know where El gets it from."

"Hey! I'm not that crazy! I don't go chasing down my child wishing that they were never born!"

"Geeze, calm down everyone, it's too early in the morning for this I haven't finished brewing the coffee for your father, Trevor." Ayumi rolled her eyes.

Ed put down his bowl of oatmeal, "What about you, El? We've all told you about our alchemy teachers, were did you learn everything from?"

Éclair took a minute to think, "Well, besides my father I mean I studied with a few other local and state alchemists...but my biggest teacher was myself. I used to sneak on trains to central, go to the library and steal books. I mean, I guess it was more like borrowing, I always returned them rather late...but they didn't even know they were missing in the first place. I only started doing that after my father died. Before then he'd always teach me everything, or teach me how to teach myself. I mean that's why I stayed three weeks in the graveyard for studying and have a collection of random things in my room."

"Including the dead rats..." Trevor shivered.

''You know what's so weird is that my alchemy tutor used to live in freemont he always talked about it and how he knew this really smart girl kind of like you El, he used to mention that he wanted me to meet her but things got complicated after a few years and he was never able to leave .... I'll have to call him up and tell him we need to get down to him-'' suddenly the door to the shop was blown off its hinges and flew across the room to rest next to where everyone else was sitting or standing near the table.
