Life is crazy. One moment your life is amazing you have everything you ever wished for a perfect boyfriend, a wonderful career, a caring family your life is perfect, and then something happens that flips your world upside down a break up, finding out your favorite pet died something horrible that makes you just want to leave and never come back and in my case it's a family member who decides that my father isn't doing his job and thinks that I should move in with her.
I just came back from my concert to come and find out that my aunt who has never been in my life wants me to come live with her in Arizona. I'm sitting on the couch speechless, heartbroken and mostly confused. I'm just sitting here trying to process what I just heard "you're moving with me to Arizona" that sentence just echoed in my head my eyes shifted from my dad to Karen and then back to my dad I opened my mouth to say something but no words came out,
"Payton?" my father asked
My breathing increased
"Sweetie calm down just breathe" my dad soothed
"h-how did this? why did this?" I couldn't get it out
"I've been seeing pictures of you through magazines and on the internet" Karen said
"The internet I didn't think she knew how to work that"
"And I was worried about you so I went to court and asked if the judge if you could come stay with me for a while and he said that it was fine given the pictures I gave him"
I looked at her then my dad
"Then I went to court and talked to the judge to see if I could get you back" my dad said with tears in his eyes "and I couldn't that's why I wasn't at the show I was trying to get you back"
I'm still sitting here trying to get ahold on everything,
"What about Rachel and Austin?" I asked
"Rachel is going back to camp and Austin is old enough to take care of himself" my dad said
"I can't" I said with my voice cracking "I can't leave"
"Well you have to" Karen said
I looked back at the suitcases I saw mine but not Baylor's "what about Baylor?"
"He's staying I can't stand dogs and your uncle is allergic to them" Karen said
"Don't call him my uncle" I said "don't call yourself my aunt"
I faced her she looked at me shocked
"You are not my aunt because a family member would never break a happy family apart you are a monster and I hate you" tears formed in my eyes
"Our plane leaves in an hour"
All I could do was cry.
We're at the airport I'm saying goodbye to my family and friends. Everyone is in tears especially my sister I couldn't stand to see her this broken and Jake is just a mess there isn't a dry eye around me. I just got finished saying goodbye to my sister when Jake walked up I sighed this is going to be very hard,
"I love you" he said
"I love you more" I cried
"Not possible" he said shaking his head with tears coming down his face
"I'm so sorry if I could do anything about this I would but I have no control over it I know I promised you"
He kissed me to shut me up
"I understand but please call me when you can and when I go there for tour I better see you in the crowd holding up the biggest poster ever" he said into the kiss
"Of course" I smiled
"Payton let's go!" Karen yelled
"Please don't go please stay" Jake cried softly
That broke my heart
"I love you Jake"
I felt a hand on my arm I turned and saw the devil she pulled me away from Jake,
"Let's goooo" she said
she's literally pulling me away from everyone I love. We're sitting on the plane that's about to fly away from my home and to a place I don't want to go when I looked at Karen she smiled at me, "I hate you" her smile faded "you're a bitch" she didn't look at me and I smiled "i will make her life a living hell" she will regret taking me from my family.
We arrived at her ranch home in Arizona. I got out of her mini van and looked around each house is surrounded with a white picket fence including her's "this is stupid...I want to go home" I got my bags out from the car and made my way up to the front door,
"You're going to love it here" she boasted
"Fat chance"
I opened the door. As soon as I opened it I saw a living room and then looking to my right a kitchen,
"This house is small"
"Well not everyone can afford the big fancy houses that you're used to"
"Karen are you home?!" a voice yelled from upstairs
"Yes Butch and we have a new member to the house!"
A man in a white shirt and brown suspenders came down the steps,
"This must be Payton!" he came over and hugged me
"Let me go"
He stood arms length from me,
"What's wrong?" he asked
"This!" I said motioning to the house "everything! I shouldn't be here! I don't belong with you all I belong with my family and friends back home in Maryland not here!"
They just looked at me,
"I'm sorry but"
"No Karen" I said facing her "you're not sorry you're a bitch and I hate you"
"Payton!" Butch said "we have a low tolerance for disrespect and cursing"
"Well too damn bad because since you took me away from my real family I'm going to make your lives a living hell" I crossed my arms over my chest, "I'm going to find a room"
"Your room is upstairs and to the left" Butch said
I grabbed my suitcase and headed upstairs.
