-Payton's P.O.V-
I'm sitting on the grass at the over-look, Angel is hitched to the hitching post and Baylor is laying beside me, he is only three years of age and he is still playful as ever and is an extremly fast runner. The bright orange ball is now hiding behind the pointed rocks in the distance and the shine from the bright moon is coming out from the east side. I closed my eyes and just enjoyed the peaceful sounds around me. Just then I heard Angel whinny re-opening my eyes I looked around and saw that it was pitch black "I didn't realize how dark it got without the city lights" I couldn't see a thing. I got up from the ground and searched around for the hitching post. Once I found it I un-tied Angel and we left.
As I rode through the fields I saw other people on horses but I couldn't tell who it was, I got off Angel and walked. We were walking through the fields I heard howls in the distanced and prayed that it was from the other peoples dogs, with the moon as my light I contiued my way through the way muddy field. I heard low growling close by I looked down and realized that it didn't come from Baylor just then a pack of wolves came out and glared at me. I was frozen with fear one lugged at me and Baylor jumped infront of me "His stupidity is going to get him killed" I huffed and decided to think of a plan,
"Hey Baylor" I grinned looking down at him "lets go for a run"
he knew exactly what I meant we quickly took off running and I could hear them following. I have a feeling I'm running in circles but as long as I'm not getting ate I'm perfectly fine with it. Just then I felt two huge paws on my shoulder and I fell to the ground hiting my head I saw razor sharp teeth in front of me then everything became blurry and then went black.
-Jake's P.O.V-
It's dark we're all getting tierd and the boys are losing hope. We heard howling in the distance but didn't think anything of it. Jason called me and told me that she hasn't returned home yet. Toby rode up beside me,
"Lets just go home we're all tierd" he groaned
even though he's right I'm not giving up "You can...I'm not"
"Pretty boy" its Luke "She'll come home"
"Yeah I know Payton she will come home" Ashton said
I pulled out my phone and showed them my lock screen. It's a picture of Payton and I in the snow I smiled at my beautiful girlfriend her long beautiful blonde hair, her crystal clear blue eyes and that bright white smile that makes my heart smile. I showed them the picture,
"What do you see?" I asked them
"You and Payton in the snow" Toby said
"Two people standing outside freezing" Luke added
"You know what I see?" I asked "Two people who really care about one another and can't live without each other I love Payton and I'm not giving up until I find her"
A scream is heard. We all exchanged looks and rode towards it.
As we came closer growling and barking is heard. I quickly jumped off my horse and pushed through the tall grass and saw two wolves fighting a dog wearing a blue bandana,
"That's Baylor!" I yelled "We have to get them off of him!"
Luke brought out his gun "I'll shoot 'em"
"No!" I hollered "You could miss and hit Baylor"
he pointed the gun in the air and fired giving off a loud bang scaring away the wolves. We ran over to Baylor and saw him covered in blood, "If Baylor is here then Payton can't be far" I searched around and found a body laying in the dirt. I hasitly ran over I saw the love of my life covered in dirt and claw marks. I swear I heard my heart break. I heard footsteps behind me I looked up and saw Ashton in tears,
"I'm so sorry"
"We need to get her home"
He nodded.
We finally got her to the house and I laid her on the bed in the spare room after she was settled I went downstairs. I'm in the living room with the rest of the family, I checked the time and its 1:45am we are all tierd but can't sleep. The front door opens and it's the guys,
"So how is he?" Granny asked
"He's ok" Luke answered while kicking off his muddy boots and leaving them at the door
Ashton walked in behind him "Toby is bringing him in poor dog he can barely walk"
I sighed "He loves her"
"I've never seen a dog take on take on two wolves before" Ashton exclaimed
The boys plopped down on the couch,
"Why does he love her so much?" Luke asked
"because" I stated "when they first saw each other Payton said that there was ome type of connection she said that she felt as if he needed her just as much as she needed him"
the front door opened and in came Toby along with Baylor trailing behind whinning with each step he took,
"Why didn't you carry him inside?" Jason asked
"He won't let me" Toby said
"He's tough...just like Payton" I smiled
He looked around the room and then at the steps. He sat at the base of them and just looked at the top of them. He's waiting on Payton.
