My Life Is Different

Chapter Thirty-Eight

Home is where the heart is. This might be the corniest things ever but in reality home is where the heart is. When I'm with my family, Maria and Jake I'm home. When I'm with them I can feel my heart smile and I feel safe and loved just like you do when your home.

*2 Months Later*

My tour is almost over. I haven't seen Jake and Maria since they left, and every time I tried to fly them out he said he couldn't because he had to work in the studio we do FaceTime and Skype but it's just not the same. I did fly Jade and Ted out they enjoyed it. I can't wait to be back in Jakes arms. So many people want to know who this mystery kid is, but I'm not going to say anything until Jake is with me.

I'm laying in the hotel bed in California scrolling through Twitter looking at all the people tweeting of how excited they are to be going to my concert

@PaytonMiller: so glad to see positivity on my time line going to perform my butt off tonight love y'all

I saw some haters I didn't want my motivators to go unrecognized

@PaytonMiller: it's all about the fans and music I don't really care if you hate me I'm living out my dream...what are you doing?

Jake mentioned me in a post

@JakeThomas: I have one tough girl on my hands but I love and miss her so much please hurry home @PaytonMiller

Fans decided to jump in some good some bad

@PaytonMiller: yeah you do haha I miss my Jakey so much and I will come home as fast as I can...can you skype? @JakeThomas

@JakeThomas: of course @PaytonMiller

I locked my phone and got out my laptop and logged onto Skype. His face instantly popped up and of course he's shirtless,

"Hey beautiful" he smiled

My face instantly turned a bright red

"Hey handsome"

We both caught up on what we have been doing. I noticed a mark on his neck,

"What's on your neck?"

"Uhh it's just umm a bruise" he stuttered "Maria and I went to the park and I kinda tripped"

"Oh ok"

I took a picture and put it on Instagram,

@PaytonRMiller: Seeing him in 3D is ten times better 😘 @JakeThomas

I heard his phone ding through the computer and he smiled at it "It couldn't have given him the notification that quick" he picked up his phone and started typing,

"Who you talking to?" I laughed

He looked at me then back at his phone,

"No one"

That stupid smile is still plastered onto his face "if it's no one then why is he smiling like an idiot" my hotel room door opened it's Chase,

"Pay lets go"

I looked back at Jake and he's still scrolling through his phone,

"Alright Jake I have to go but before I do where's Maria?"

"Sleeping"

"Oh okay..." my voice trailed off, doesn't seem like he wants to talk "bye Jake"

"Bye"

Just then the screen went black. He logged off and didn't say that he loved me. I just sat on the bed replaying what just happened. I didn't think of it long because I'm going to perform my butt off tonight. I got off the bed, called Baylor and we left the room.

My concert is over and I'm saying goodbye to my fans and thanking them for coming out. Just then music started playing,

"People think it's fake but what we have is real" a familiar voice filled the arena "they think we're just another tabloid crush"

just then a spotlight shined on stage and Jake came walking out. Tears started to fill my eyes he ran over and picked me up giving me the tightest hug ever. Once our song was over we ended the concert together and went back to the hotel. I walked into the room to find Maria laying on the bed watching a video she saw me and smiled,

"Mommy!" she jumped off the bed and ran over to me

I instantly picked her up and hugged her,

"I missed you" I cried

"Miss you too"

I sat her down and then got ready for bed. I'm wearing red flannel pajama pants and one of Jakes white t-shirts I smelled it and it smelt like perfume. I laid in bed with Maria in the middle of Jake and I,

"Jake?" I asked softly since Maria is asleep

He looked at me "what's up?"

"Why does your shirt smell like perfume?"

His eyes became wide "well..." he trailed off

I raised an eyebrow

"I missed you so much that I put perfume on my shirt to smell like you"

"Awww Jake" I cooed "if you missed me so much then why didn't you come out to visit me?"

"Work got in the way"

I kissed his cheek "I love you"

"Love you too"

I looked at the ring on my hand "love you more" I smiled at the thought,

"Jake I missed you so much"

"Yeah missed you too" he said flatly

I looked at him and he has his phone in his hand. I exhaled and got up and went over to the other bed. Baylor jumped up on the bed and laid beside me,

"Hey" it's Jake

"What?"

"Come here"

"I'm ok"

"Payton please" he pleaded

"No Jake I'm tired"

I heard the bed and then two arms lifted me and carried me out on the deck. It's so dark out the only thing you can see are the stars and the moon which I don't mind I love looking at the stars. He sat in the chair and I'm on his lap,

"Jake it's cold"

He held me tighter and kissed my cheek,

"I love you so freaking much. I would go to the moon and back for you" he took my hand which has the ring on it "this...this one day will be an engagement ring and following it a wedding ring you make me the happiest guy in the world don't you ever think I'll never love you because I will always love you"

"I love you to Jake"

"I love you and only you...we're going to be together forever"

I took his hand and he held mine tighter "together forever"

A/N OKAY!!! I'm going to need some feedback on this and I'm crying TWO MORE CHAPTERS AND THIS BOOK IS OVER!!! 😭😭😭😭😭 please check out my other book A Way Out that one will be updated soon I'm writing the next few chapters in a note book I always write then type, because while typing it I can cut out what I think shouldn't be in the book and replace it with what should be in the book. ☺️☺️☺️ so this book is almost over Im crying.
