Chapter Twenty-Nine

Once I finished bring the cattle in with my dad and the guys. Granny wanted me to help her in the kitchen, after helping Granny I decided it was time for me and Jake to spend some time together alone but not in the house. Jake decided to have a sunset picinc. While there he told me that he could never cheat on me because I'm the only girl for him and that he can't wait until we're older and we move in together and he promised that he would never hurt me. He told alot of other things as well. By the time we got back to the house Mama Tucker decided to have a bon fire which I loved. While everyone was getting it ready I'm in the barn with Angel putting her cover on her. I heard someone enter the barn Baylor and I hid in the stall,

"Come on just one little kiss"

"No Darla"

"But Jake-"

"Aren't you engaged?" he asked

"I lied"

"Why?'

"I don't know but I do know one thing and that is that I want you"

I know I should be stopping this but I want to see what he does. To be honest Darla isn't the ugliest girl I carefull peered out the stall and to my surprise her arms are around him she moved her hands up his chest then underneath his shirt and he isn't even pulling away his hands wrapped around her waist she kissed his neck and I swear I heard him moan. His hands then traveled down her waist and onto her ass. I can't believe what I'm witnessing but I have to because it's right infront of me,

"Jay" she smirked

"What if she finds out?" he asked while kissing her neck

I'm torn between ripping her head off or his balls either way someone is going to get hurt,

"I think I'm falling for a country girl"

I watched as they moved closer to one another then I saw something that broke my heart his lips made contact with hers. I guess the one that got hurt in the end was me. I opened the stall door and they both jumped,

"I promise huh?" I heard my voice break and hot tears fell onto my cheeks

"Look it's-"

"I don't want to hear it" I interupted "apperantly I can't make you happy so go be with your country girl hopefully she'll be able to do what I couldn't"

I left the stable while wiping my eyes.

-Jake's P.O.V-

As Darla leaned closer I felt myself do the same and before I could pull back her lips crashed with mine and I kissed back, her lips weren't like Payton's they were dry Payton's lips are soft and beautiful and I didn't get the spark with her like I got with Payton everytime we kissed. I felt her smile into the kiss. I heard a stall door open and I pulled back there standing there is someone who I never wanted to hurt. Payton is standing there eyes watering,

"Payton?"

"look it's-"

"I don't want to hear it" she interupted "apperantly I can't make you happy"

my heart broke when she said that

"So go be with your country girl hopefully she'll be able to do what I couldn't"

and with that she left. Tears are falling from my face. I cheated on someone that I can't live without I have to go find her and explain everything hopefully I won't lose her I walked away from Darla,

"Where are you going?" she asked

"Isn't it obvious...to get my girlfriend back"

"she's not going to take you back"
