My Life Is Different

Chapter Eleven

-Payton's P.O.V-

I opened my eyes and saw a white ceiling I heard beeping and felt something in my hand I looked down and saw the familiar needle stuck in my hand which gives me fluids I groaned and laid my head back on the pillow but a seething pain ran through my head "ow what in the world" I touched the back of my head and there is a bump on it "how did that get there?" I looked at my surroundings and saw my family, Jake, Ms Thomas and Bethany. I looked down on the ground and saw Baylor laying right beside the bed.

I looked to my right and saw the monitors that keep track of my blood pressure and heart rate. My door opened and the nurse walked in with a clipboard she saw me and smiled,

"How are you feeling sweetie?"

she went over to the monitors

"Pretty good" I replied "how'd I get here? and why am I here?"

"You don't remember any of it?"

She looked at me suspiciously her hazel eyes just watching me seeing if she could find out if I was lying or not. She walked over to me her blonde with brown highlights hair is swaying back and forth with every movement she made,

"No I don't" I replied

"You might have lost your memory for the pass few hours"

"Few hours?! how long have I been asleep"

"I'll bring the doctor in once he's done with the other patients" she smiled

She walked out the door her pony tail swaying back and forth she turned in the door way and sent me a smile I gave one in return. I felt something on my leg removing the covers I saw a purple cast "great I have a broken leg and my head is killing me" I huffed I saw that people already signed it

They are plenty others but those are the ones that stuck out the most. I looked down at Baylor and he has a blue cast on his right leg "what happened?" I huffed I just hate not knowing things,

"Dad!" I hollered

His eyes opened and looked at me he started to cry,

"I'm hungry" I stated "can you get me red lobster?"

He came over and sat beside and held my hand tears started pouring from his eyes,

"Why are you crying?"

he looked at me confused "do you remember what happened?"

I shook my head "but I would love to find out"

He chuckled and then looked at me "we almost lost you well we did lose you"

"Huh? What are you talking about?"

"The doctor said you hit your head pretty hard when you fell which basically killed you"

"Wait I died?!"

I started hyperventilating

"Pay relax" my dad soothed "Baylor was at your side laying with you he was gone as well"

"This isn't making any sense I died along with Baylor and then we came back?"

he nodded "you two had an angel watching over you"

I looked down just taking everything in "I died and then came back to life well that explains my head pounding and I must've broke my leg when I tripped"

"I freaking died and then came back"

Tears fell from my eyes

"all that matters now is that you're here and safe"

"I freaking died oh my gosh! I freaking died!"

I still can't get over it. I looked at my dad then at Jake who is sleeping uncomfortably in the chair then back at my dad,

"How did Jake take it?"

"Not to good"

I just laid there,

"Jake!"

He immediately woke up and looked at me I smiled and so did he. Jake walked over and I moved over on the bed he laid beside me I faced him,

"I love you Jake more than anyone in the world please don't leave me please"

"I won't just as long as you don't leave me you are the reason for my smile, my laugh, you're the reason for why I get up in the morning you are my everything I can't see my world with out you in it"

He took my hand and I looked into his eyes so much love is coming from them,

"Where ever you go" he said "I'll be right there next to you"

"And I'll be right there standing beside you"

He kissed me and ran his fingers through my hair,

"I never want to lose you ever again"

I squeezed his hand "you won't I'll make sure of it"

He smiled.

Everyone is awake and telling me how worried they were when Ms. Thomas asked to talk to me alone. She's sitting right by my bed it's awkward she keeps looking at me as if she wants to say something but can't get it out. I heard her faintly say something but I couldn't make it out,

"What?" I asked softly

"I'm sorry"

I was taken back. I just sat there processing what she said,

"I'm sorry for treating you the way I have been no deserves to be treated like that"

"It's ok"

"No it's not I never really knew how much my son loved you until now I mean he's told me over and over again but I didn't believe him but when I saw him acting the way he did when we all thought you left us I finally understood"

She took my hand. She looked me in the eyes and I looked at her,

"He really does love you while Bethany was driving us here all he was doing was crying and saying how lost he would be without you" she paused "I never knew he could love someone the way he loves you with all his exes he didn't care like he cares about you he never did any of the things he does for you for them"

"And I feel the same way about him yeah I haven't had plenty of exes like he has but my love for him is stronger than anything in the world"

"And I couldn't see that then" she smiled "but now I do you two were made for each other and I'm really sorry for treating you the way I did"

"I accept your apology"

"So can we start over?"

I nodded "I'd like that" I said with a smile "and I'm pretty sure he would like that also"

She smiled and leaned over and gently hugged me I hugged her back. I saw a tear fall from her eye,

"Thank you Payton"

"No problem Ms Thomas"

"Please call me Tracy"

"No problem Tracy"

She smiled and so did I. A fresh start with his mother is something I needed and I'm pretty sure Jake will be super happy when he finds out.
