My Life Is Different

*One Month Later*

My family and I are now living with Jake and his family until our house can get re-built or until we find another one. We all have our own rooms even though I always end up sleeping with Jake. My sister has come back for the holiday and my brother is over with his girlfriend. Jade and I have been spending a lot of time together and Ted is coming home today I'm so excited I miss my little nerd. I'm watching everyone run around putting up decorations for the upcoming holiday...Christmas! My favorite holiday and Jake kept his promise we're spending it all together no concert, radio station interview nothing like that just the family.

Jade came and stood beside me carrying a box of Christmas lights she's wearing dark blue jeans, red sweater and brown Uggs,

"Think the boys are doing a good job?"

I looked at the guys who are putting up the tree,

"Yeah they are doing pretty good...for guys" I laughed

Jade flipped her long black hair and smiled,

"If we're not doing it right how about you come do it!" Josh yelled "oh that's right you can't"

I groaned and looked down at my leg a black brace covers it,

"When do you get that thing off?"

"Doc says if it starts to hurt put it on"

"Does it hurt now?"

"No"

"Well rip that sucker off" she laughed

I leaned down and took the brace off my leg felt so much better,

"Payton!" it's my dad

I turned around and saw him hanging up the mistletoe

"If it starts to hurt put it back on"

"Oh honey leave her alone" Bethany said

She walked over to my dad and kissed him,

"Ok ew" Chris said as he walked into the living room carrying the tinsel

"Hey you leave us alone" our dad laughed

Bethany and my dad walked into the living room from the walk way. Our dad sat in the chair and Bethany sat in his lap her arm around his neck. There is a glimmer of light I look at her hand and saw the giant diamond ring my dad bought her. My dad purposed to her a few weeks back.

It was at the Bahamas when he popped the question. I knew he was going to ask because he asked me if it was ok and I'm not going to tell him no because I like Bethany and he loves her and she makes him happy I'm not going to stop him from marrying the love of his life, because one day I'm going to do the same. I looked into the kitchen and saw my sister and brother baking cookies in the kitchen with help from Caleb and Carly.

Ms. Thomas is bringing up the Christmas balls for the tree and Justin is helping her. Justin is here for a while to help the family, and since his family went to the airport to get his cousins I told him that it's fine if he hangs here with us,

"Oh my!" Ms. Thomas exclaimed "this tree you boys put up is marvelous"

Josh came down the ladder "you like it?"

"I love it!" she smiled

Everyone went over to the tree to help decorate it. This is what I love about Christmas no one is in a bad mood, you could feel the joy in the room and it just makes me smile. I felt hands on my waist and chin on my shoulder,

"What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing just enjoying life"

I turned around and saw Justin he pulled me closer to him,
